Well I did a carbon clean today (that was all kinds of fun) and still getting some sputtering. Its basically anytime I step on it, but I can let off just a bit and step on it again and it quits sputtering. I'm at a loss for what is. Any insight would be appreciated.

:cornut: If you've done all of the things that we previously listed then, it's time to see an experienced MINI shop. List your location and some of the MA people in that area will come up and tell you the closest reliable shop.

Does anyone have any suggestions for replacing the downstream o2 sensor with something that isn't ridiculously priced?

If you don't mind slightly used then yes. I happen to have one in my desk drawer that has about 5k miles on it. Since I went with a long tube race header I needed longer leads. Someone made them for me on new O2 sensors so the one from my car has been sitting in a box in my desk ever since.

How about $100 shipped via Priority Mail?

Thank much for all the info. Next is the o2 sensor. Where exactly is the downstream located?

Are you saying you solved the p115c problem just by changing the fuel filter?:mad2::mad2::mad2:

So newest update. Although the sputtering is gone with the help of the fuel filter change. It still didn't have the power that it use to. I decided to really push it off a stop light on my way home from work this morning and it lost all power whatsoever and threw my p0420 code which I know has to do with the post cat O2 sensor. But I didn't think that would make it run like it did. Possible I have a bad cat?

The trouble you may run into is it is against the law to sell a used converter & even to install one. Odd, but true. You may get lucky & be able to buy one anyhow. :fingerscrossed:

:cornut:Drive(or trailor it) over the Canadian or Mexican border, which ever is closer, do the deed and drive back home. Nothing was done in the US. It is similar to what's going on with the Original Minis that are coming in now a days to the US. They are getting titled(oft times as antiques or older than the truly are. They don't seem to be on the radar yet but certainly great finesse is advised) and no one is getting in trouble so far.

Replace the rear O2 before you go CATLESS. You can also try and stall you car by blocking the exhaust with a few towels to see if you have an exhaust leak.

I really don't think you have a bad cat.
