Autoblog has posted spy shots of what could be called the JCW Challenge Edition. The images show what appears to be a JCW model with revised front and rear bumpers. The front has larger air intakes and what appears to be a more aggressive looking splitter. There looks to incorporate the MINI Challenge rear diffuser.

Could this be the R56 GP type variant?

Only time will tell, but it's a good thing that MINI is still working on keeping things fresh. Now if comes with a few more ponies under the bonnet too... :biggrin5:

That car is much lower than a normal R56 too. Nice looking imo. Looks to have the rear headrests though. However, 2seat Hardtop isn't needed now that they have Coupe.

Interesting lack of wheelgap. I wonder if MINI went with aftermarket struts or if they developed a lower OEM set....

That under-aero kit is no joke on that. I'm intrigued.

Very nice - hopefully a power increase as well.
Something weird though with the line of the plastic fender flare on the driver's side.

    Sooooo....
I wonder if MINI is using up some of their Challenge stock for a special "Challenge Edition"? That lowered stance might be provided by the use of KW struts which also supplies coilovers for the Challenge racing series. That diffuser sure looks like the Challenge part.

Good catch. The fender is okay it's the fitment between the hood and front "quarter" panel. Something had to be adjusted underhood (test equip; change in motor; upper strut mounts; etc...) Interesting.

I reckon there may be some tape covering up some 'styling' of the back side of the front flare and also the front edge of the back wheel flare. My guess is that there are (fake) air vents moulded into the flare - very DTM*, you know.
