I still love this MINI after 15 years, 166,000 miles, over 10,000 Dragon miles, 80+ track days, countless autox’s, many MTTS’s, two MSSD and planning on attending my 14th MOTD!

Nice history and a superb enthusiast enjoying a MINI the right way.

Can you detail the engine and suspension mods for us uninformed folks.

    Thank you,
    Don

R50 engine’s can’t be modded too much. Or not without spending big cash. I have worked hard on driving instruction too! 80+ track days, autox’s and 10,000+ miles on the Dragon!

It is all in the driver anyway unless you are on a drag strip. :). Keep it clean and enjoy.

Thanks for this list. I literally just purchased a R50 JAC 2dr HB and want to do whatever i can to it. I dont see to many modded R50 not the S. I will look into what you have here and take some notes. Any other engine tweaks you can offer will be greatly appreciated! BTW Nice ride man!

Engine mods on an R50 are limited, plus these engines are not as robust as the inners of the R53. I have done no major engine mods due to this......173,000 miles and counting.

Best mod for any car......driver instruction! Many autox’s and track days offer instructors, I still always invite them in my MINI for their advice!
