So... what's the verdict?
I drove HARD at the Dragon and surrounding insane twisties all weekend, with TGS91 as a witness.
I had NO brake issues all weekend, running Valvoline synthetic fluid (which isn't nearly as high-temp as super-blue) and my AX6 pads.
Ambient temps were relatively low all weekend, and all day Friday was in the wet. But Saturday night I did a cooking Dragon run in the dry, with no pause at Deal's Gap, and cooked it all the way back up Hellbender to Fontana. My brakes were fine all the way, and weren't even smoking when I got back.
If I would have had any issue with debris, I think it would have happened with the loose gravel, and massive amounts of leaves all weekend. No issues.
So I'm leaving the plates off, until I install ducts with ducted plates.

Your R56 has WAAAAY better stock brakes than a 1st gen car.
I'm thinking about scoring some R56 calipers for mine. I think between those and ducts and proper pads, I'd be fine for anything. -
Well the R56S stock brakes are exactly the same as the R53 JCW brakes. exactly the same, meaning same pad. So yeah, stock is waaay better for the 2nd gen.
Ok, they don't have the red paint or the JCW logo, but other than than.... the same. -

Also, I talked to Jeff Bibbee (Owner of Texas Speedwerks) at our last DIY day, and he told me that their new slotted rotors for the R56 are on the boat as we speak!
