Yeah but you are in the Real New England and not Baltimore, DC, Philly, NJ or NYC so its a typical NE Winter storm. (Right)
You win this week's snow contest, Zippy. New York is no longer the center of the universe, so the CNN satellite trucks and hyperventilating talking heads should be headed your way soon. (Even Anderson Cooper admitted to only getting 6 inches last night...) Stay safe!
This is exactly how people freak out when the news says we are getting snow. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6zaVYWLTkU"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6zaVYWLTkU[/ame]
Looks like NYC got it bad! LOL Woke up to about 2 feet of snow so I went out to have a ride around on my new pet! LOL
Not here! Beer and cheese all day! I put in 2 days off work seeing as the weather is not quite Costa Rica!
Officially 33.2 for my town....here at the house, sitting at the top of a set of hills near a golf course, we got a bit more.. funny thing is...about 5 miles away, a bit lower in elevation, they got HALF as much.... But near ZERO power failures (guess the snow is so light, and all the tree trimming helped)....good thing too it is COLD out! Low singles..... and a couple more inches to go most likely... Forecast is a MINOR storm on Friday... and a more "significant" one on Monday....
LOL...my car was warm and cozy in the garage...wife's ride, a toyota Highlander has snow ABOVE the door handles!! Tried to go snow tubing (thought it might work, but know 100% was to powdery for the sled) on the golf course....snow was too deep!! LOL Too powdery to float on top...as my 8 year old said "epic fail Dad!!" but was said with a laughing giggle after 30 minutes of us getting stuck in the snow drifts! was a Blast!! Think I need snowshoes if I want to go back again.... Had to move onto snow-forts and snowball fights...lol..hope school is open tomorrow...this crap is wearing me out!!
hahaha you found me out Chuck! I was very happy to watch the complex crews clean my drive with the BOBCAT digger while lazy me was drinking a beer! What was interesting today was I was driving the 2013 Accent up a snow covered hill when the snow clearinng BOBCAT crossed my path. I stopped and try to get going, I had 1st selected but with the traction control on the car slowly ground to a halt. I switched off the traction control and wheels spinning I blasted up the hill. I find driving in snow is much better without the traction control.....but I use the hand brake to steer too! haha
It was a fun day driving to work but I do question some of the plough drivers. One came straight at me so I had to drive into deep snow to avoid him, resulting in me stuck for a few minutes...aaaarrrgggggghhhh. Work closed at 12:30 which was good because I barely made it up a hill getting home. What was interesting was several 4x4's stuck as I drove by in the Accent which is not noted for its off road performance. Now I'm home drinking a brandy cocktail, just warm me up..LOL
