My car whistles with both the OEM and DT BPV - so YMMV.

Got the DT BPV in. It still whistles, but it did make a huge difference. :biggrin5:

Love the whine hates the whistle. My car has no whistle.

Bringing back and old thread, because as of yesterday, my Mini whistles. Drove it for 8 miles with AC on, nothing unusual. Stopped, threw some stuff in the back, started up and WTF? It never has done this before - it's like an RPM indicator, going from lower to higher frequencies as the RPM changes. Drove 8 miles back, it's not as loud as it was when I started, but still does it. Do no hear it at idle outside the car, nor do I think it was audible outside when it started, as I rolled down my windows and nothing was reflected back into the car when driving past parked cars.
It was audible with and without AC, it didn't come through the audio system (or so I think - it was powered off - it was so pronounced at first, I thought I had a shortwave radio engine RF interference going on), it wasn't the blower fan (off), nor were there any codes or did the engine run differently. boost all fine, belt brand new, etc. I let it idle when I got home and opened the hood, nothing down there that sounded like a whistle.
There's an aftermarket green filter in the car, but I've had that same filter in there since I bought the car and never heard any whistling before. It was so loud when it started that I thought the supercharger was broken, because I could not hear the normal whine over the whistling.
Will unload the car tonight and take it for another drive. If it's the stuff I put inside (home audio gear, speakers, wires) being excited by some sort of magnetic field, I'll eat my hat. -
well, eating my hat. Doesn't make the sound any longer, and all that changed was taking out a set of small bookshelf speakers, an old AV receiver, a CD changer, and a subwoofer out of the spacious rear-seat delete sports utility vehicle.

Possible the magnetic field from a speaker set up some sort of electronic harmonic... if you have the H/K system your H/K amp is right back there...
And yes I have the part-throttle whistle too, just got used to it I guess. -
speakers were all on the opposite side of the car, most distance to the amp. Also, audio system was powered off. But it clearly was an electronic type whistle, directly in sync with throttle position, and not just for part of the throttle travel, but any range I used, the audio would go up and down with my input. Almost like one of those airplane/glider altitude gain/loss audible indicators.
