Ok, I bought the Alta intake, and am now looking at getting a strut bar. Is anyone aware of one that is out there where I wouldn't have to deal with the "bulge" or cut into my airbox?

I'd talk to Way of Way Motor Works about one of his front TSW X braces

I have a strut brace bar and while it does add some to the front suspension this would give you a heckuva lot more of a bang for the buck

No cutting air box and get more stiffness in the front end

+1 on the TSW brace. Don't waste your money on a strut bar. Doesn't really add any performance and you would have to modify it to fit over the Alta CAI if it is the one with the top on it.

Cool, thank you for the fast replies. Any input on those strut tower defenders and the like? My car is my daily/auto-x car. Just curious if they are a good invvestment.

I talked to Way and he told me the M7 strut bar fits over the Alta CAI. I have yet to get mine installed to see.

It does, unless you install the optional (and purely cosmetic) top. And you should follow the M7 instructions and remove the hood liner, cut away a bunch of excess insulation, and keep the bar wrapped in plastic for a few days.

I think so, my understanding is that the strut towers can be prone to getting bent on a nasty pothole, etc. And once bent they are not gonna get back to orig and cause all sorts of alignment issues

The wifes 10' is totallly stock but I got her the strut tower defenders

If you don't do a strut brace I would highly suggest the strut tower defenders

Or better than those, get a set of camber plates and kill both birds (mushrooming and little to no camber)

Oh, you can still mushroom them with camber plates. :D Just need to find a road bad enough. Or any street in Los Angeles.
