Did you reassemble the strut with the washer and dust collar #5 & #6 in the proper location?

Hey, that graphic looks wrong, the pictures look correct. The dust cap with the washer just below IT. I assembled it in the reverse of dis assembly. They're in between #7 and the mount.
Unless this car's previous owner had work done wrong of course. -

Did you torque strut nut #3 properly? Sometimes that nut can be the source of the knocking noise if it isn't tight...

I went with the IE fixed camber units which use the OEM bearing off of the BMW Z3... Very satisfied with them...
