    Just an observation and not being critical but wheels look horrible to me and the short sidewall tires just seem to be ticking time bomb for those of us who are approaching pothole season.

    Yes, wheels are fugly and do not work in our area well. Go for snows, the some real tires. :)

    I agree those wheels really don't do that car any favors. Can you imagine trying to keep those clean. Given enough time they'll all be bent & need replacing. Seems lots of car makers are going with giant wheels with rubber band tires. Now 19" wheels are becoming commonplace.

    When I bought my GTI I switched out the 18" wheels for 17" ones & couldn't be happier. Seven years on & no bent rims.
