First thing I would do is get to an alignment rack & see if it is OK or things have changed because of the impact. If all is well I would carefully clean the rough edge of the strike with a grinder, then touch it up with paint to keep rust at bay. I think your brace saved you more serious damage.
Then I would just motor & not worry about it. Good luck...
