Hey David...
Is that a halon fire suppression bottle next to the amp? Gets a little hot, does it?![]()

I have the roadster sound box in the back of my R53 and it should also fit the R56
-
That's actually what I am looking at... and it does fit the R56.
Do you know what the enclosure's made out of? Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something that was going to vibrate apart.
Do you like it? Also, did you get the Earthquake sub they have on their site with it, or get one on your own?
Thanks.

I have the same in my R50. The box is well built and made out of MDF. Mine is holding up perfectly so far. I also got the Earthquake 12" sub; it's a perfect fit (no surprise).

As he said, MDF construction while the false floor is padded and carpeted with metal grilles. I have the Earthquake sub but I haven't really pushed it performance wise as I'm interfacing the whole unit with my factory H/K sound system. In that regards it perfectly augments the stock car's sound quality while boosting the lower end of the register. I have to dial the bass back occasionally because the sub can become overpowering to the rest of the unit when you've got it turned up. I wasn't planning to when I got the car but more and more I've been itching to do something more AV wise.

We are planning to make a false floor that will be flush with GP rear seat delete and then mount a shallow mount sub in the floor for a completely stealth look.

I know this is an old post but I have the Urban Mini Sealed sub enclosure and it is a perfect fit. No lost space, perfect fit and finish. I installed a Custom built Team PSI 10" sub (dual 2 ohm) on a Digital designs SS1a Amplifier installed in the sub enclosures hidden compartment. It sounds incredible. For some it may have too much bass but with the remote bass knob it is easy to turn down if you need to.
Pardon the blurry first pic.

Nice Clean setup Dave!

Talking about Halon extinguishers... My 1st duty station in the Army my unit was testing the Bradly fighting vehicle and one of the things they had was a halon cabin system. Bad part was that they had an external handle for the system incase it was needed to activate it from the outside. The handle was installed into a small cargo box on the rear of the track... where it normally hit the ground when climbing hills... and was easy to rip off the back of the track....
What happened you ask, a few occasions the box was ripped off, system was activated, 3-4 guys bailing out of a rolling track gasping for air.. The army then changed the design so that the handle would not be activated when the boxes were forcefully removed. -

David,
What unit were you in to test the Bradley's? I was in Aschaffenburg from 83-84, and we were one of the first to get them and the M1.
Take care,
