There use to be a guy on Ebay that sold snout rebuild kits for the M45 SC cant find them anymore. Anyone know of a place I can purchase one ? I have a spare SC I would like to play with and try my hand at rebuilding.

    Have you done it yet?

I've fot a week in Sept where my wife will be out of town, so I'll have free time and a second car... time for a supercharger oil change, I think.

Woo hoo! I just finished the oil replacement, along with new plugs, a new oil pan gasket and some new radiator hoses. If I hadn't nicked that o-ring and blown 4 qts of Royal Purple around my neighborhood, it would have gone off perfectly!

The oil on the pulley side looked like Hershey's Syrup (should be clear) but there was oil in both sides and the gear teeth that I could see through the water-pump side fill port looked good!

I'm glad I bought 3 bottles of SC oil... I used most of one flushing out the drive belt side

    Which o-ring did you nick?

The oil filter can o-ring. I'm amazed at how fast the 4 quarts came out.

You can track my test drive out the driveway and around the block.

By the way... the write-up / how-to is already at 6 pages and I haven't even gotten to entering the 30-some steps it took me to get to the replacement. It will take me a bit to get it done, but I'm working on it.

Way to nail the supercharger rebuild and drop the ball on the oil change. :biggrin5:

Yep. It was very strange that I could plow through the strip down and rebuild of the engine and then blow the job that I've done 10+ times. Oh well... :D

One of our local MINI mechanics calls it the 'Trail of shame'. :)
