I'd be happy to install it for you, but you'd spend a ton on gas to get the Bug Eater to my shop.

You're correct for the most part. Most of us will never experience the unreasonable sinter conditions you all do in the east and mid west. It all depends on where you hang your hat as to what the climate is like...

Yeah this seems like the more thoughtful thing to do .
What kind of suspension did you put on your mini?

So will that be good for the winters up here ?
We get probably like 2 or 3 feet of snow sometimes at a time

It will be fine just as long as you lube the polly bushings via the fittings.

H&R is based in Germany (including all of their manufacturing). They aren't blind to weather concerns.

You will have to watch the pot holes, but I would go aftermarket.

Oh and maybe point that MINI south! :D

Only you can make the call on if lowering your car is a good idea. Lowering your car will lose you suspension travel. My car is lowered about 1/2 inch & there are times I miss that 1/2 inch of ground clearance.

If I lived where you do I wouldn't lower my bar, that's just me. Maybe wait until you move & then alter your cars suspension.

If it was me... I wouldn't lower a car in Alaska unless it was a summer-only driver.

Nothing wrong with the stock one if you ask me. Once you wear it out change it. That's what I did with mine.

KW makes a great set of coil overs and you will be able to raise and loser your car to any height you want.

You will even be able to go higher than stock for those crappy roads and snow.

If you add a good set of snow tires your MINI will be unstoppable.
