    I think there is power up there. My V1 was wired to a source at the mirror base. for reference it's a very late 06 with rain sensing and auto dim.

    nobody knows? I found info so easily on our r56 I'm surprised it's hard to find stuff on the r53 as it's older

    Since power folding mirrors were never an option to my knowledge on a gen1, and the only wires that might be there would be mirror heat (an option on some cars), I think you will need to fish a wire...
    You would have the wires for the tiny stepper motor to aim the mirrors, but don't think those would be useful in any way, both due to have and the way they are used....
