Hey y'all, I just wanted to take a second to introduce myself before I spend hours on the forums figuring it all out. Ha. I'm Steph and I just bought my first Mini- I've done the single mom thing for a long long time and have always driven cars that I can afford or that I needed, never one that I *wanted* so after thinking about it forever I finally decided that after 17 years of mom cars I should have a little fun. I drove approximately 6.2 bazillion vehicles and decided on a 2005 Mini Convertible. I'm so excited, she's not the fanciest on the streets but dangit she's fun. All I heard is how I would hate having such a small car, i'd change my mind, i'd hate driving a manual (one of my requirements, most people I know won't ever be able to drive her!) and a whole lot of negativity that I just don't need in my life so I decided to get one that I could just swipe my card for....no money in payments means more cash flow for customizations right? So far, so good...i'm in LOVE and she's so much fun to drive. Four days in and she's got better tires, i'm shopping for wheels and she's got an appointment for rally stripes next week- getting ready for summer! I'm super excited to maybe meet up with some people in Central Ohio and get a few road trips under our belt... Nice to 'meet' you!
Welcome! My sister also got a car with a manual trans, so that her teen daughter couldn't drive it. Smart move!
Maybe a smarter move if I knew how to drive a manual before I shopped but I figured it out pretty quick I've only stalled her out once so i'll take it. I've got three teenage boys around her....I'm feeling her pain. Next stop, something pink to make sure they don't want anything to do with her! Thank for the welcome y'all!
Welcome to the addiction and congrats on being a Central Ohio MINI owner. Mid Ohio Motoring is a great group that meets for donuts the 3rd Saturday of each month at Tim Hortons in New Albany. We are pretty active on MA.
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community. If you are looking for stripes in the Columbus area let me know. I have a friend that does a nice job. She did Shelby type stripes on my car.
Congratulations on your new chapter in your life! You're very fortunate to have a great bunch of folks to hang with in your area. Enjoy your car and welcome to the Alliance!!
Welcome to M/A..... and MOM (Mid-Ohio Motoring) Stop by for our monthly "It's Not A Club" donut munch at Tim Hortons....the next gathering is April 18th @ 8:30am New Albany Timmies... We kick tires and stuff.... Impromptu drives have been known to happen after a belly full donuts... Don't miss the road trip we do throughout the year.... Lot's of fun to get out and see Southeastern Ohio... Amish buggies... And lunches.... and of course hanging with the MOM's...
Welcome!! Hopefully there will be a few driving events....many are more social than performance if that is what you are after... Up in NH we have MOT, mini's on Top, where about 350+ mini's gather for a weekend of events at a ski resort in the spring, then run in a convoy to the top of Mt Washington....lots of family fun. Other events, like the dragon are more about hotdogging it on a twisty road, also fun, but tends to be a different crowd. The mix of folks driving mini's is incredible, and I bet you will find your nitche! Heck...I'm jellious that you have a cabrio...after this past winter....spring can't come fast enough!!
Thanks y'all... i'll definitely try to make it out for donuts one day when the schedule allows. There is always room for donuts...and new friends!
