Don't let one bozo sour you to the whole place. Did you try bribing him with a donut? :donut1:

I was at that race, it was fun to watch them all trying to catch the eventual winner Mazda 2, there was some real racin going on there!
That pic shows the Sneed speed car which finished 2nd and the blue MINI USA sponsored car which finished third, also the gold car turns out to be driven by a fellow from my own 'hood, Overland Park! I had no idea we had a local in the series!
CoTA is a fantastic track, and it's high on my bucket list to drive it someday. -
Unless you are in the BMWCCA event in a couple weeks, you will not get to drive CotA for the foreseeable future. CotA has not given any DE organization a 2013 date or even an indication that 2014 is a possibility.
Of course you could always spring for the $50K private track day rental...
Seems CotA wants to go upscale. I do believe there is a Ferrari event coming up. These upscale events will probably be in the $1500 - $2000 a day range. -
A few weeks ago I stopped by while driving from Waco to San Antonio. Stopped at the gate and asked if I could look at the track. No Go. Asked if they had a track store to visit. No Go. I've traveled through most high profile tracks in the country and have always been able to at least look at the track during a non event mid week. Not at this track. The guy at the gate had a real attitude like he was guarding The Space Station. With that, I don't care to ever patronize them or give them my money. (Off my soap box now)

It's a fantastic track. The facility is great as well. I wish I had known you were there too MINIDave. I would have loved to meet a fellow MA Member. Where were you sitting?
It was fun watching the TC/TCB races but those guys were racing very dirty. My wife was working race control this weekend and some of the calls happening were just dumb.
Here is a quickie clip of the V8 cars I snagged while in the stands:

Yep, sorry I missed you too......we were at the top of the hill at turn one.
It was sooooooooooooo hot, we had to find shade in the shadows of the stands..... -

Yeah, being a ginger, I was taking breaks every 90mins to reapply sunblock.
Drop me a message if you plan on coming back for ALMS Sept or F1 in Nov. -

Me and a couple of buddys sitting in the tiny bit of shade afforded by the grandstands. The wind was pretty strong all day at the top of the hill, so that helped a bit - and we drank a LOT of water......
