Just found this announcement on The Texas Speedwerks Web site: Texas Speedwerks is in the process of selling our inventory and IP to a very good dealer/installer. The new owner will manufacture and sell our great products on a new website... more soon when the sale is final. Anybody know anymore details?
TSW out of business.........? Saw this on the sewing site......... MINI COOPER :: North American Motoring - Tsw Out Of Buisness!!! :cryin:
Wow, that's a shame. I don't think any shop was more knowledgeable about MINI suspension and supportive of developing aftermarket solutions.
CRAP!!!! I was wondering why the site was acting up too! This saddens me - these guys were some of the best people to deal with! They stood up for their products and were continually trying to better themselves and help us out! I hope the transition goes smooth and the knowledge and service still remains!
Major bummer, those guys are one of only a handful of manufacturers/vendors who are 100% trustworthy, and don't pull any BS... I'll have to find another source for the BDM rotors now. Jeff and Mike have been so incredibly helpful, I hope they stay involved in the MINI world in some way, shape and form.
Just got the email from Jeff. This Sucks. hope the new people handle the business like they have in the past. I was just going to order coilovers. :frown2:
Any leaks as who is taking it over? Their stud kits have become a standard in the MINI community. This economy sucks:mad2:
Some people are "In the know" over at NAM, but aren't sharing... I have an educated guess, can't wait to find out how wrong my presumption is...
I'm surprised Nate hasn't chimed in on this, since he's always been close to those guys. I am also very sad to hear about this, I have purchased several things from them and they are one of the few MINI shops that I always recommend with my eyes closed. I hope the people taking over continue in the same manner.
I've known about this for some time but out of respect for the negotiations and dealings going on chose not to discuss.
Non Disclosure is always best in these matters. Being a business owner today is a tough proposition with new regulations coming at you everyday, dealing with suppliers and generally covering your arse in everything you do. I wish them the best...they were among the best vendors we have had.
Well, this is disappointing and makes you think twice about dealing with a small biz. Meaning you patronize the small biz, spend your hard earned $ there, get some good products (at least I did), build a relationship, then it's sold and your history get wiped out. So, it may have been a great deal for the original owners, but maybe not so much for us. :frown5:
