Miniracer, all more reasons to vote for your government leaders that support small business, support elimination of BS policies that hurt small business and have the common sense that reminds them that our economy was built upon the foundations of small business. Sorry...off my soap box now.

Not trying to incite a riot here, just stating that as of now........this is disappointing news for me as a customer of TSW.
I would/will warmly welcome the day when I can state that I am pleased with the ownership transition and what it means to me as a customer. -
I agree. It's just sad how difficult it is to operate a small business profitably while competing with the big guys. It all comes down to service and the value proposition which TSW excelled.

I dunno, while I'm disappointed with TSW selling, I got SO much help from those guys, I'd do it all over again without hesitation. And knowing that crew at TSW, I just don't see them selling out the MINI crowd--it was as much a labor of love with those guys as it was a business. I'm suspecting that they're more than likely to sell to a business with a similar mindset--TSW took pride in what they did, and deseverdly so; they put a bunch of time and effort into what their products, they've developed some pretty good relationships with some top notch vendors/manufacturers. Keeping that in mind, although TSW will be SORELY missed, if their stuff goes to a good MINI dedicated outfit, there is no reason to believe that the TSW goodies can't continue to be offered with the same excellent support that Jeff, Mike, Steve and the crew gave over the years. -
I have my guesses and if I am right, I think it could be good. -
When I took over the Ian Cull circuit
one of Ians customers had a problem, I dealt with it. No big deal and a small thanks for Ian giving FES the opportunity to carry on what he started, so don't assume that past customer history will be ignored or forgotten. Afterall, it was past patronage that created something worth carrying on. Just good business.
And as an actual small business owner, the BS stuff about government support or lack thereof is just that: BS. Truth is, the MINI market is small, and the recession is hitting everyone hard. Even as the macro-economic picture improves, the micro-economic picture for most is still rather bleak. That is what hurts many of the small businesses. The notion that a local, state or even national government has the economic leverage to deal with issues that are multinational in nature is nieve at worst to optimistic at best.
I too look forward to see what the future holds for the TSW products and people, and I hope that everything works out well for all involved.

For many who stay on only a couple of MINI forums their are many other great MINI shops out their that have contributed both parts and expertise for us all. Some are sponsors/vendors here on MA on others have not yet come aboard.
A couple MA vendors have been around the MINI world as long or longer than TSW.
Check out the the MA sponsors list.

I want to say thank you to TSW for the great products and support you have given us. I hope everything goes well for you all, and you will continue to interact with the MINI community. I have made or designed similar products to the ones TSW has in their catalog. I was hoping when I opened their catalog and ordered one of everything; it would be close to what I wanted. In fact they exceeded my expectations. AutoXCooper and TSW gave me great support and well engineered products when I converted my car to coil over. I look forward to the new owners, and hope their engineering skills are as good.

if I recall, TSW was always a side business for the fellas. Sometimes, it's proper to pass on the torch. I wish them well...one of a short list of MINI vendors who always did right by customers (me included).

No arguments there.

I put my guess in for posterity, but it's hidden in a cryptic post on another forum (went right over the heads of the sewers too.). But if it's right, I'm taking full credit..
