    Wow, sorry to see this but glad you're ok.

    I'll second the request for more details when you're up to it. Odd looking damage with almost all the impact directly on the door and relatively little damage visible on the adjoining panels.

    I suppose it makes sense if this structural beam (top arrow) was supposed to be lower down in the side skirt (bottom arrow).

    Or is that just part of the door?

    The hinges and door jam must be seriously messed up. You can see crinkling in the side marker panel.

    Bummer on the total loss but MINI sacrificed its life to save yours. Good luck with everything. Another MINI perhaps?

    Still waiting for my dad to get back from a trip so we can sign the car over to insurance and then we see how much they will give us for the car.

    I highly doubt I will get a shiny new one. I have already accepted that fact. I have a few used ones that I have seen that I like but I need to wait to see what kind of money we get from the insurance.
