M/A is a damn good alternative "manual". I've learn quite a bit from most individuals replying so far. That and the Bentley... hard to beat.

I got the Hayne's manual for $2.99 on clearance. It wasn't worth it.

Bentley all the way. Soopercooperinfo.com is also fantastic, when it gets up and running again.

Other sources--Pegasus has some very good MINI DIY (helped with a master cylinder change last weekend--lots of good pics), on youtube, MINImadness has a few as well.

I am easily confused by abbreviations, acronyms and jargon and avoid them whenever I can. I have to admit that I was momentarily confused by the MA reference, when associated with the Bentley manual.

Give Genik a break, from things he's said in his posts I gather that he is not a native english speaker. I have joined and participated in non-english speaking forums, it is not easy.

... with an occasional link to the sewing site. Because some of us were sewing there before MA was born.

Genlik, I'm sorry for the confusion. I was referring to Motoring Alliance. You need help with a problem we will help you. No one will ever tell you to do a search and we don't care if we have given an answer for the same question. That's why I'm at MA not the other forum.
As you can tell we do like to poke fun, hang around you'll have some good laughs

But that was funny! Welcome to MA! :D

That was damned funny, even though unintentional.

But the answer to the question is: the MA manual is free, and does not require a "search the forums," or "RTFM", all it requires is a question on these very boards, you'll more than likely get the answer directly or a link to the answer.

Doesn't matter if English is your first or second language, we'll do our best. Besides, many on here who have picked up English as a second or third language have a better command of it than most of us on here who have English as their only language...

That's the one I got for 2.99 at Autozone, marked down on clearance. I was shopping for a bench bleeding kit, and for that price, I figured what the heck. It was plastic wrapped, so I couldn't preview it, but it's not so great-- it's paperback, and the pictures aren't so hot. It's ok if you've done the job before, but not so good as a sole reference on a major first time job. Here and there it's complimentary to the Bentley manual but it by no means replaces it. It's nice to have both, but I wouldn't miss the Haynes manual if I lost it. On the other hand, I'll probably pick up another Bentley manual at some point as I'm wearing mine out.
