Nah, Z2 was supposed to be a small roadster.

Not sure what the Supra project will end up using.

I guess with the dismal sales of the Z4 and MINI Roadster plus the general convertible market trending downward [even the Miata], it's not too surprising. The Superleggera was probably going to have to be a platform-mate for the Z2, so if one goes they both go. It seems the paradigm shift of "no convertibles" continues, unfortunately.

Back OT, I found either an error in RealOEM or an interesting nugget:
*Part #51757290827 is "Underbody Paneling, rear right", and is shared between the Justa-Cooper and JCW, but not the MCS. Curious? I'm thinking error, as there seem to be a few in RealOEM right now.

Still, Miata is doing ok, and the Z2 was going to compete with the Miata, similarly to what they tried with the Z3. I had high hopes for it, I would have considered buying one if they hadn't dragged their feet so long that I gave up and went all out on the MINI instead.

The Z4, that was a confusing car...First a performance car, then it morphed into a luxury cruiser type of thing, it really never had a clear direction for what they wanted it to be.

    Precisely.

Some focus in the Z4 would've been great.

In regards to the Miata doing well, well... the Miata delivers fun and handling in an economical package that has no competitors at the moment.

Why is this so difficult for other car manufacturers to understand.....

Because most drivers don't give two shits about cars. They just want something that gets them from point A to point B without spilling their coffee. :mad2:
