Here comes a re-pop of the Chrysler Maserati TC. Just because it was a monumentally bad idea once doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried again.

I wonder what they'll call the POS this time...

    Ferrari Dodge 200 GTBi
    Chrysler Enzo F-300C

better yet, a Ferrari Daytona Prowler Spyder

They're only increasing production by 350 cars for now, that's hardly a game changer....

But when talking about going from 7K to 10K annually in a world market of what - 50 million annually? - is that enough to ruin their current status or desirability?

I just wonder where all these new buyers are coming from, where are they getting the money, and why the heck can't I get me some of that action?

Ferrari sells a lot more cars now than it ever did. They get premium prices because of the exclusivity. If they make more or cheaper versions the demand will go down and with it profits.

Ferrari controls Fiat's other high end marks too so those would be the better expansion points.

VW has a number of levels and they put the right versions in the right place most of the time. Alfa and Maserati just haven't been defined properly in the scheme of things. Fix that issue and leave Ferrari alone.

This leaves me in a quandary.

I have been a Ferrari F1 fan since I found out what F1 was by watching the Grand Prix of Monaco and building a model of this car.

Now that I think Ferrari will fundamentally be totally changed in a manner I do not approve will I stay a fan of the F1 team.

Time will tell, but I'm just not feeling good about this change.

    Enzo will die again.

I have a feeling the workers may leave.

If they do that to Ferrari it will be a huge mistake.

Sounds like a Chrysler based Ferrari Town&Country baby bus is on its way! Like soccer moms need a high HP minivan...

They need to pull their head out of the ground and make the "NEW" Stratos happen....

    Interesting thought Mark.

I think that would be preferred to Bernie being dead & in hell while still running the show with his sidekick satin.

In years to come Montezemolo's name may be spoken respectfully when people fondly discuss the last of Ferrari's low volume good ole days.
