New bargain I'm really psyched about...
Home Hobbyist Metal Cold Cut Chop Saw for less than $120.00
I just put this package together last weekend and it's working perfectly, I've cut 1/8" x 3" flat stock, 2" x 1/16" wall box tubing, and 2 1/2" stainless exhaust pipe so far, absolutely "0" issues and no noticeable motor strain.
The secret is the Diablo CerMet metal cutting blades for the 7 ¼" circular saw.(they have a few versions, for steel and aluminum) Unlike large metal cold cut blades, which need slower RPM's to work, these blades are designed to cut at the faster RPM's used by wood cutting saws.
Here's the package:
(I was able to put this together for $100 including tax)
Any 7 ¼" mitre cutting chop saw, they range from $80 - $120 depending on your mfg choice.
(I actually found a Black-and-Decker on sale at at Mart.com for $65)
Then your choice of Diablo CerMet blade at Home Depot $30
Again, so far it works perfectly and none of the annoying abrasive chop saw smoke, sparks and heat.
And while a 14" would be nice, honestly... When do most hobbyist need too cut anything larger than 3" round (which this will do), along with the extra space required for that large of a saw and the price tag starting at $225 for entry level cold cut.

Time to resurrect an old thread...
Rivnuts
When you need them, they're great, better than simply tapping a few threads into something and far more convenient than welding a captive nut somewhere.
Hand Rivnut tools, while good, can be difficult or near impossible in tight spots and can just generally be a PITA. And will run you $50-150 depending on the quality and mandrels.
Power adaptor and pneumatic Rivnut tools will run you $90-200.
So... Here's a YouTube link for a DIY solution that will not only fit into tighter situations, it will fasten the Rivnut more secure, can be made for ANY size Rivnut and will only cost $1.00-2.00 per mandrel size.
This is genius:

Still use the light all the time, I'd say 3 "ish" hrs of continuous use on high, hooks right to the hood latch rods.
Between it and their Braun rechargeable, there's always light where I need it.-

Or there's a Craftsman for $100, or Ryobi for $120
And the blades are online or at Home Depot for $30.00
Plus, not only will the blades last just as long as the 14" version (they are the exact same design and composition) they are only 40% the cost.
(And you still have the wood blade that comes with the saw)-

I don't think I would ever trust a rivnut to hold suspension parts on, I like them fine for sheet metal and non stressed parts tho.
How is that light working out? Is it bright enough? How long does it stay lit till it needs to be recharged? $19.95 now, not even on sale, with a 20% off coupon it's $16!-

I live about ten miles from a Harbor Freight store, I go there so often that they know me.

That looks like a mighty handy light.

Nice light, but I do not find myself working under the hood after dark often enough to make it a worthwhile purchase.

I got one at an Interstate Battery store about a year ago. Looks just like this except it doesn't have the red trim. Works pretty well. Magnets need to be a little stronger. The link shows the light attached to a Chili Red R53.

Looks like it will be helpful for late night MOTD searching for vacuum leaks parties.

Me too, way to much time, all I can hope for is that the GF doesn't find my stash of reciepts.....
There are 3 in close enough proximity to where I travel, been know to hit all three in one day to take advantage of an expiring "use no more than once a day" 25% off coupon.
I really took advantage of them, bought 2, I've moved all my tools out to my 8x30 old construction office trlr that I use for storage & created an 8x15 workshop, decided to hang these from the ceiling for lighting, & can just pull one down when I need it for the car, don't do much out there in the dark anyway, so it was much easier than permanently hanging florescents! (cheaper too)
I also saw that they finally have a top box for their 56" bottom, but their 44" setup is still their best value & really good quality too, the 13 drawer 44" bottom goes on sale for $350 all the time. For anyone who doesn't know.
