Ok a lot of us like to go shooting. It is a time honored sport. So I thought I would start this thread to give the shooters among us a place to talk guns and Minis. All I ask is please lets not turn this in to a thread to argue about gun rights. I love a good second amendment debate but this is not the forum for it. So if you enjoy the shooting sports this is the thread for you. I'll start. I have been a member of USPSA for some time and of course the NRA. I love to compete in USPSA matches. Altho I don't have the time to do it lately. I have done a few IDPA matches but prefer USPSA. Welcome to USPSA.org - Home of the United States Practical Shooting Association
Between my guns and cars I seem to stay broke. Expensive hobbies for an old retired guy. I need to take up scrapbooking, whatever the heck that is. :biggrin5: NRA Lifetime Member GOA Member VCDL
Guns have not been an expensive hobby for me, I'm the guy in the family who likes guns, so guns come to me when a family member doesn't want them around anymore. One of the few I've bought is a C-96 Mauser (Broomhandle) pistol, I've wanted one since I was a kid and a guy I sometimes shoot with at the range had one he wanted to sell. Come to think of it, that gun found me also. I wasn't really actively looking for a broomhandle Mauser, I just came across it for a good price. Maybe an M1911 will find me someday.
I love to go shooting. My current favorite is my 1911. Everyone needs one. I wouldn't mind starting to shoot IDPA OR USPSA but I need to find the time. NRA member
Have not shot in probably the last six months but I have a S&W 9mm and a Savage short barrel, pistol grip 12 gauge.
Yes, I like to shoot, I am a recent returning shooter. When I was a kid, I lived on a small ranch in the country, it was normal for me to go out and shoot rabbits and other general varmits. I am talking under 10 in those days, I started plinking when I was 7. When I was in the service, I did some range shooting but my field weapon was a camera, so not much shooting. Currently I enjoy target shooting with my Browning Buckmark Micro 22LR, I have a cheap 1911-22 that is a good practice firearm, I get lots of jam clearing practice. For the home, I keep a Beretta 9mm Storm, always handy, when kids are about everything is locked up in the safe. For some reason I like the odd caliber stuff, I have been wanting a bolt rifle, so this week the opportunity came for me to get on the order list for a 22 TCM Bolt rifle, it is a new offering from Armscor Rock Island. We shall see if it is a good shooter or a POS. Plan is to enjoy some range shooting and maybe a varmit or two with the proper licenses. Thought, if folks are comfortable, post a picture of your favorites. Also, since I do not own a revolver, I have to ask what folks enjoy and collect. Don
My smallest pistol... Remington .41 Rimfire My largest... Custom Remington XP100 in 7MM IHMSA Apologies for the quality of the photos. I don't do my best work at zero dark thirty.
This is a great idea. I just visited the NRA museum Friday. I'll post some picks when I get home. They had my High Standard 22 'space gun' in the precision shooting display. I started shooting it when I was 6 and it still my favorite gun to shoot.
Here are 2 of mine, DIY Water Dipped Hi-Point 45 ( sure it's big and heavy, but it was cheap and it works ) Also my Mossburg 22 Rifle.. It has the angled adj sites on the side for when not using scope. Don't have any pic of the H&K 45
Thought I would share a shot (pun) from the range. Left is my recently worked over Chiappa 1911-22lr, much smoother now. Right is Browning Buckmark Micro Bull 22LR, simple reflex sight! If the shooter was better, I could rise to the challenge by one of our range-masters, 10 into a quarter at 30. Don I hope this image shows up, let me know.
Mostly a bump! I did get to the Loveland Tanner Gun Show today and found some nice ammo. Found a cheap MINI Red Dot Scope from Ospreyscopes.com, local rep selling some old stock and versions I suspect. I will report back after I get a chance to play and mount it up on the Browning. Might be good, might be a piece of crap but the price was right. Don
If any of you are in an area without a gunsmith and need some work done, let me know (pm me) My son is a master gunsmith and I'll get you in contact with him.
My oldest daughter wanted to go shooting yesterday. After she sends a few down range she said,"I have one question, does it come in pink?".
My girlfriend is using my Sig P238 as her daily carry. She asked if we could get the frame Ceracoated in pink. :nonod:
