I've seen that video before. It's 100% correct. Lol.
Yeah I was stuck in The People's Republik of Commiefornia for the month of Feb. It sucked. Happy to be back in Texas.

Virginia is a Shall issue state vs a May issue. Local sheriffs can disapprove for cause, but not just personal choice. If you don't have either approval or disapproval within 45 days, your application is good in lieu of CHP until it's resolved. We also have a preemption clause in state law that prevents localities from making laws more stringent than the state version. Cuts down on the confusion.
My CHP was expired by two months before I realized it. Filled out my paperwork, paid the fee, and had my renewed license in ~2 weeks.-

Been slacking at the gym and I haven't kept up my training regimen. It showed at this match. It was also between 95-98f and 80-90% humidity the whole match. That was a rough couple of days. Shooting around Houston in the middle of July is not a great plan. Lol.

"They will cut you some slack" on words, but once something happens - you going to be the first to have 'em at your doorstep. Hate all the bureaucracy, especially when it takes longer than expected.-

Guns have not been an expensive hobby for me, I'm the guy in the family who likes guns, so guns come to me when a family member doesn't want them around anymore. One of the few I've bought is a C-96 Mauser (Broomhandle) pistol, I've wanted one since I was a kid and a guy I sometimes shoot with at the range had one he wanted to sell. Come to think of it, that gun found me also. I wasn't really actively looking for a broomhandle Mauser, I just came across it for a good price. Maybe an M1911 will find me someday.

I love to go shooting. My current favorite is my 1911. Everyone needs one. I wouldn't mind starting to shoot IDPA OR USPSA but I need to find the time.

These are great little pistols that are handy to stick in your pocket as you're going out the door and don't want the hassle of gearing up with a holster for a quick trip to the grocery store. IMO these little pistols are far superior to the less expensive offerings in this format. Better (actually useable) sights, easier to shoot, and because of this, easier to stay proficient with because they're just more fun to shoot. I also like that it is just a scaled down 1911. Same form, function, and a sweet single action trigger.

Used to have a Mustang in all stainless, that I bought in the mid 80's. Great little gun. Sold it a couple of years ago for a big profit.

I live just down the road from VIR. When they re-opened the track I spent a lot of time there, but haven't been back since they added the high end restaurants, condos, shooting ranges and such. Struck me as more geared to corporate expense accounts than my meager retirement. I've done a few laps in my Vette and I love the track. I used to go to races there in the early 60's before it was closed in '74. I've heard they have some world class ranges, but I live 2 miles from the county gun club and my Daughter has a range in her back yard so I never thought to check them out. Might have to remedy that.

No expert here, but depending on which variant you got, the Persuader will set you back $300-$400 new. It's a good dependable home defense shotgun and is a less expensive alternative to the Remington 870. If it came with the full butt stock and the pistol grip, I would recommend the full stock. Pistol grip looks cool, but it doesn't give you the accuracy and control that you get with the full stock, and depending on the rounds you're using can be punishing. Just my opinion. YMMV
