I did all the work. The beauty of Glocks is that all you need is a punch and you can tear them to pieces and reassemble them in a minute. They are the legos of the gun world.

They are Franken triggers. I use a Vogel trigger bar and overtravel, Tarran tactical connector, striker spring, trigger return spring and a Glock store striker drop safety plunger.

 

Now that I've grown quite fond of my Colt Mustang Pocketlite 380, I've decided I'm going to part ways with my Bersa Thunder 380cc. I think it may be time for my Shield 9mm to go as well.

Since the purchase of our Sig P238 at Christmas a couple years back, I've been very interested in its big brother, the P938. I'm looking to get my hands on a more easily concealable 9 and I think the P938 just may be the ticket.

Any thoughts...?

 

I took out a few to the indoor range yesterday, it has been awhile since my cataract surgery and next week I go back for the right eye. Since my left eye corrected to 20/15 distance but close and computer range needs two different powers I was wondering if I could see the front sight clearly, nope.... I took out both 22s with red-dots, absolutely clear with the left eye which is dominate, I am a right handed shooter.

The Ruger 357 GP100, 380 Colt Pocketlite and CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical performed well in braille mode at 21 and 30 feet, I actually grouped pretty close on the paper, surprising as I was shooting no sight picture.

I did not exercise the Beretta 9mm, that will be in 4 weeks after all the post checks and then I will see if I can get some glasses that work for everything.

I did order a set of Smiths Tactical Ballistic glasses today, I think these will by clear shooting glasses for the range. I will report back.

I will post a couple pictures Tuesday after I get back from MITM Steamboat and a cabin stay up on the Grand Mesa, time to get into the woods.

Easy, if you like it, you'll practice with it. Then you will be proficient with it and it will be useful as a concealed carry pistol. So get it. If you want it, go for it.

 

Don't know what you think about Glocks, but if you're not a hater and since you're a (Retired?) First Responder, you may want to look into the Glock Blue Label Program.
Like you, I was looking for an easily concealable 9mm when I stumbled onto the G43. Through the program I found one for less than my Gun shop (Glock Dealer) could buy one for at wholesale.

I also have a P238 that I love and I'm sure you can't go wrong with the P938. Just thought I'd give you something else to consider. I've been carrying my G43 for almost two years now and couldn't be happier. YMMV

 

Thanks for the input gents... I'm going forward with the P938 next week. And, I'm not a Glock fan, but don't fault those who are. Just not in my chemistry I guess.

I've carried my LCR, my Shield and my Thunder. I prefer the revolver believe it or not, but I want more bullets.

 

My buddy did a surprise custom cerakote job on my G34 match gun. FYI: I have been a Deadpool fan since the mid-90s.

 

That got my attention, because I am 100-percent right handed, but am "left eyed." I shoot with my left eye, with guns and my cameras. Always have. Trying to use my right eye feels completely unnatural.

Just curious, is that pretty common? Anyone else like that?

I'm not, thankfully. Left handed and left eye dominant.

However, I see cross-eye dominance often in the competition and self defense world. For pistol shooting there are many ways to adapt.

For rifle shooting you are pretty stuck. Most folks shoot the rifle to compliment the doninant eye. So learn to shoot rifle left handed if you are left eye dominant.

The darn thing nearly rips my hand off when I fire it, but it sure does disappear in a pocket. It gets fired 20-30 times a year at the range (all I can take), cleaned and then put back into service mode.

What's rule #1 about a gun fight? Bring a gun. I can pop this in my pocket and not worry about printing at all. It lives in a secure spot near my back door, so when I'm headed out, it's easy to take along (properly permitted, of course).

Nice P08. Looks like matching numbers, at least the ones you can see in the picture. Lugers had darn near every part on them stamped. Lugers were hand fitted/assembled so parts were not always easily swapped from pistol to pistol like the 1911. They were more of a work of art. I made the mistake of disassembling one in my youth. Fortunately it belonged to my buddy's Dad who was a collector, so he had it back together in a couple of hours.

 

I like old guns, they have style. The new semi automatics out there all look the same to me, like new Hondas, Toyotas, Hundais and Kias do in the automotive world.

 

I agree. I much prefer the look, and feel of blue steel and wood grips. That being said, you're correct, the new pistols (tupperware) are the Hondas and Toyotas of the gun world. They work every time and keep on running no matter how much you neglect and abuse them. And most if not all are downright homely compared to a nice S&W wheel gun, Colt Python, or a pre 1980's semi auto pistol. But, that dependability is what made the Glock the best selling handgun in history despite only being in existence since ~1980. I love my 1911s, but the pistol I carry almost exclusively now is my G43. It's an ugly little pistol, but reliable as an old claw hammer and I clean it every 300-400 rounds whether it needs it or not. I'm sending it off next month to a company in GA to get some custom work done to it. Head Down Products RX1 package.
