    Yes, Laughable!

I explored a new store and range yesterday, yes I drove my MINI. Another indoor that some folks who drive MINIs enjoyed.

I will go shoot there in a few weeks, but it is a bit farther away, not my 15 minute local drive.

You folks with nice outdoor access really make me wish I lived in the SE, we do have National Forest and Grassland access, but is 2 hrs up or 2 hrs North of the Denver area.

I saw some nice revolvers and got some nice hints from the salesman/gunsmith person at the new range, I think I am going to let him upgrade my CZ SP-01 after he experiments with his CZ P-01 (edc).

Did see some nice VZ grips on his P-01, I might get two sets for my CZ and send my old grips down to my son who wants to shape and carve me some custom wood. We shall see how that goes since he is legally blind, but does some great wood work on a lathe and makes super boxes, etc. He is doing me a pistol display case, might take 2 years, but I can wait. :)

Well, off to enjoy, watch some shooting videos and wait for Monday so I can go shoot without the crowds. :)

Picked up a Ruger American in 22 tonight for the kids. Hopefully we can hit an outdoor range in a couple weeks for them to break it in.

That is two handfuls of 1911 variant. Good video with Jerry, he is a master but just a bit of a character.

double barrel .45 ACP 1911 pistols made by Arsenal Firearms out of Italy, not sure I would want to even shoot this monster.

And seriously... close your eyes and listen. How many bullet holes would you have expected to find? 20, 10, or 5!?

The high speed shows there is definitely not a simultaneous trigger pull... but I know my ears only hear 5 shots, not 10.

It's only when you have expensive equipment to see the actual delta that it makes someone care about it.

Went to the Tanner Gun show in Denver this afternoon, had a thin crowd so I was able to look and ask some questions.

Found some 22LR CCI Stinger at not outrageous pricing, but 50 rounds at 15 and 12 is still damn high, the 12 was bulk pricing since the guy had them not in the pretty CCI stinger plastic box. ;)

Founds some new 357 Mag 158grain from TEX-X at $20 for 50 count. Not reloads, so we shall see how they did, they are out of Wyoming.

All in all a good day, I did see some old Colt SAA units, folks are pretty proud of them, as the cheapest was $2200 and the most expensive looked to be about $4400. Must be the "COLT' stamped products.

I did drive my 07 down, parked between a couple of big boy trucks, that was fun.

    :)

I customize NAA revolvers. I have started another project and thought y'all might like to follow the project. I have taken a NAA LR revolver and have textured the back strap and the underside.

I am going to gold plate the trigger, cylinder and pin. The frame will be highly polished and a gold do on the top of the front sight. OR...some other ideas may come to mind. Any suggestions?????

I love this quote from The Lord Of War but it didn't fit with funny sayings

"There is 1 gun for every 12 people in the would. The question is how do we arm the other 11"

    Two days in a row....

I feel relaxed and blessed. Since I am going to MO next week, I felt the need to exercise the hands a bit.

Yesterday took over the CZ 75 and the Ruger 357 to the range. Below is the result. Shooting at 45 feet, 38 spec. hot loads by Magtech. The CZ was at 30 feet. The top picture is the revolver, the 9mm is under the black target. :)

The other picture of today's target is the Browning 22 at 40/45 feet, with some CCI 40 grain MINIMAG is is a little tack driver, to bad the shooter is not up to it.

    9mm and 38 Spec.

So, finally got off the couch and decided on a Glock 17 Gen 4 17+1. Haven't had a chance to break it in, but have a box of 250 rounds of FMJ round head just staring at me wondering when we get to go out.....lol

This is the most fun gun I have ever shot. The round (5.7 x 28) has very little recoil, flat trajectory (up to 100 yds.), and a 50 rd. magazine. Problem is...ammo ain't cheap !!!! Sorta like a MINI...

Put a Sig M11-A1 on layaway at Cabelas last night. Going to pick it up early January. Couldn't pass up the price.

Every range except the state park I've been to around Columbus asks shooters if they have shot before. If they haven't they go through a gun safety initiation.

I started shooting have I was 6. I never had a class and certificate until I got my ccw. It was just something the person teaching the new shooter does. My dad did it for me I did it for my kids and wife. I have thought a number of others to shoot also.

I'm planning a MINIs at the shooting range next year to teach some other new people.

Well said Vetsvette!! mrntd MINIs at the range is an excellent idea.
When I am asked by friends about getting a weapon for defense I tell them they should only do it if they are willing to train. I tell them if you had never driven and brought a car just in case you may need to drive someone to the hospital but didn't take time to learn to drive, the day you need the car it would be useless.
The past few weeks, because daughter, niece and nephew have got their carry permit,I have been trying to teach them that the gun is not the plan it is part of a plan.

Now lets go out and have sum fun shooting. Whatever you discipline is, IPSC, IDPA, hunting, steel plates, rifle competition and take some new and show them a fun time.

Unfortunately the tool we all use everyday doesn't require training (if your over 18) only a very simple test. Cars cause more death and injury than guns but they aren't considered deadly weapons. No one in Washington is calling for increased car control or background checks.

Training is important for any tool to be able to use it right and safely. The person pick up the tool and getting in the car should be responsible for their own training. I know a number of people that do firearm training and their classes are booked solid.

Sadly I have to wat till March 5th to go take the CCW class since the range the dude does it at is closed till then. But couldn't pass up the deal, I think it was $118 for me and the wife. Not too shabby.
