You did the right thing FB. Whenever I do a private transaction with someone I don't know I require a copy of their drivers license and another photo ID. I attach them to a simple bill of sale and get signatures for good measure. And, like you, If it don't feel right. don't do it. (yeah I know, that's what She said) When I'm buying from an individual I expect something similar. Always make the transaction in public place. I've only traded a couple of handguns in the last few years and that was with my LGS. I've only sold one rifle in the last 20 years and I regret that. Didn't really need a .45/70, but I still regret selling it. I've bought almost as many guns off the tailgate of a P/U truck in a Cracker-barrel parking lot as I have at gun shops in the last 20 years. But, like you, I've passed up a couple of sweetheart deals that just didn't feel right. Also, a follow up on the G42 that Santa brought my daughter... She absolutely loves the little pistol. She's already run about 400 rounds through it. She took to the Crossbreed IWB holster right off the bat and carries it everyday. She's getting to the point of feeling underdressed without it. I'd recommend that combo to anyone looking for a low recoil, small format pistol for EDC. Same goes for the G43 that I bought. It's been on my belt every day since I got it. Light, compact, and with the right OWB holster it doesn't print even just covered with the bottom of my t-shirt. Oh yeah... where/what is Primm?
 Swimming Competition... That's funny right there! Primm is on I-15 at the California/Nevada border. The SNORE sanctioning body holds an annual two day event there. Here's a shot of his truck at the races a couple years ago. Wish them luck.
Well, you could have spelled it out. Good luck to him and the crew. Looks like a muddy fun thing to do.
Just picked up my M&P Shield 9mm yesterday. What a cool little 9! Headed out to shoot it with a buddy tomorrow afternoon. I'm happy to say we've gone from a single firearm family to one with an interim total of five, in just a little over four months. Still looking for a nice reliable, high quality 22LR pistol... And, Ive decided on a Ruger LCR 38 Special to round out our options and I ought'a have that in hand by summer. The number seven sounds like a good number to me.
So today went browsing. Decisions looking at 40s. CZ 75B in 40S&W to compliment my CZ75 SP-01 tactical or CZ P06 in 40 as a daily carry to replace my Beretta 9mm Storm Compact. Oh my, decisions, I am leaning towards the P06 and then get it setup by Cajun Gun Works. Thoughts? Don
The LCR's I've seen with Crimson Trace laser grips run more than six bills. The CT grips alone go for around $299. I thought about a laser for mine, but ended up going with a Big Dot night sight on the front.
Glad I could help out, from today's Yahoo Online. Smith & Wesson Holding (SWHC) — Third quarter revenue soared 61% from one year ago to $210.8 million, driven by a 25.3% jump in handgun sales. The company raised its full-year revenue guidance to $712 million to $717 million, up from $650 million to $660 million. Don
Ok, so great news! I met the owner of the LCR today, shot 10 rounds at the range and did the deal. I was able to get it for 450 bucks!! 10 more days and it'll be back in my hands. Thanks for all the input guys.
I took my CCW class on Saturday. Now I just gotta figure out if I wanna wait for an appointment with Franklin county at the end of the month, or go over to Madison county where you dont have to have an appointment.
Well the 5th week of the Bullseye 22LR shooting is done. I am having some pretty poor results. Shooting at 50 feet, single handed, just wobbling all over. Guess I need more practice. Scores are to low to post, need to break the 200 score before we are done. Practice and strength.... Or just maybe learn to shoot properly!
