I finally got over to the shop to pick up my LCR 38 spl. That rounds out my trio of concealed carry options (M&P Shield 9mm and Sig Sauer P238 are the other two) and we can now move forward with the process.

Nice selection of EDC's there Fb. Are you gonna carry +P's in the LCR? I carry the Speer short barrel/low recoil .357 rounds. Cuts down on muzzle jump and flash while delivering a little better than +P+ ballistics. I don't know how much you've shot your LCR, but after a short learning curve mine got to be a lot of fun to shoot. Took me a while to figure the difference between POA and POI, but once you get your laser zeroed in that should be a lot easier than the open sights. The long trigger pull takes a little getting used to and while pretty good right out of the box, it will improve with your round count. I've put ~350-400 rounds through mine and the trigger improved noticeably.

Nice to see folks liking the LCR, I looked at one in 22mag, did not like the feel. I would think the 357 is a better build.

I shot some 22lr at the Bullseye again last eve, still the same piss poor results. I did rezero the red-dot, it is spot on shooting a ragged 1/2 inch hole for 10 rounds at 30 feet at the bench (2 handed, elbows on the table on the rest).

So it is me, guess I need less wobble or an arm strength program, time to lift....

A little picture to give you a view of a nice set of targets.

I've only shot 10 rounds through this LCR. It's chambered in 38 Spl and is a used gun. Not sure how many rounds have been run through it, but it's pretty spot on the red dot... I shot the Hornidy Plus P and it made a believer out of me keeping a good grip on it! That said, I haven't inquired much as to what load I should carry... Any input is welcome.

On the same note, sorta, I shot the 22 magnum and loved it. As the price for the gun is the same as the 38, I opted for the bigger bang. That said, I'm sure I'll carry my 9 and that 38 will likely be locked inside whatever vehicle I've got at the time. The 380 is my wife's.

We've been working on pull-it-up point and shoot with our LCPs. For a small gun we're hitting the target at 25 ft. It's more of a "real" situation than aim and shoot.

Then we shoot zombie targets with more fun guns.

What model XD? I've had three, but the only one I have left is a XD45ACP Tactical. Great pistols. I carried XD40SC as my EDC for a couple of years. Hope it won't be too much longer for your permit to come through.

Its an XD Mod.2 4" Service 9mm. This is my first XD, and I really like it compared to some other 9mm's I've shot before.

Ok, so maybe a silly question. Anyone know of storage solutions for handguns in our beloved Minis for when you have to disarm while CCW?

You could always consider a lock box and attach the cable to one of the baggage ties in the boot.

My Colt Mustang 380 fits in the hidden compartment just fine, it actually will fit in my radar detector storage box with an extra mag.

I suspect my Beretta 9mm will fit also, my full size CZ 75 will not.

A nice compact 9, 40 should fit fine.

If you have the CCW permit you can holster your gun with an attachment to the panel down by the gas pedal or on the center console. That is pretty common around here.

If you want to store it, get the small Hornady biometric lock box for a single pistol and secure it in the trunk or on the floor behind the driver. You will have to drill holes to secure it properly so it cannot be stolen easily, but if the thief is determined it will be gone.

    :) Don

When you are referring to "disarm" do you mean not carrying in those places that say you can't?

Two solutions. Either don't go there or carry anyway. The point of concealed is they can't see it. If something happens in the "not allowed" places I'd rather be in trouble for having it than the alternative.

Okay in places like gov buildings you may have to go in and can't take it with you because of metal detectors you'll need a solution.
