Liberty Safes are relatively affordable and made in the USA. If you Google them, you'll see they have a nicely done website. There's lots there to choose from and you can take a short quiz to help determine your needs. Once you've done that, you can basically create your own safe by using their guide. This allows you to pick a model, size and color choices for both exterior and interior. Good Luck!
Really quiet around here, I have not been to the range in over a month, corrected that today. Shot a few rounds at 30 feet with the CZ 75 SP-01, I do really love the feel of this pistol, wish I could shoot better. FMJ rounds in 115 and 124 grain, all cycled as they should. Also I exercised the SW22 Victory, it is a fine shooter too. Don
I have been wanting to go to the range for a couple of weeks but have had no time. I still haven't sighted in my AR!
My hubby and I went to our outdoor range in town last week. Got to FINALLY put some rounds through my WWII Japanese Arisake rifle. Also, good point to know is don't use stainless steel casings during the summer in your AR. It will expand and won't eject properly.
The Mrs. and I finally had some free time this morning so we went to the range so she could try out her new Sig P238. Nice little ccw 380. She likes it a lot.
I am thinking the Colt Mustang 380 and the Sig P238 are very similar, if I was to buy another 380, the P238 would be a logical choice, it is more refined than the Colt. I like my Mustang it shoots fine.
My Bersa Thunder 380cc is my fave to shoot over my wife's P238. I just prefer the bigger frame... The Bersa is extremely smooth, has a light recoil, shoots any kind of ammo, is super easy to take down and conceals as best as you might want... Both are very accurate I must say.
My 84 year old dad gave me his Remington 1100 last xmas, and I really need to get it inspected and cleaned more than I can do, since it hasn't been shot since about 1984. I know my 870 pump inside and out, but this 1100 is a lot more complicated. I have fond memories of my dad and me duck hunting, with him and his 1100 and me with my 870. Some awesome duck gumbo came from those hunts -- thank you "ma" Taylor. Maybe I'm behind the times, but I'd rather sip coffee in a duck blind at 5AM than play with an AR-15 at a range getting ready for... something. I miss the days when people bought guns for hunting. CD
I believe people still buy guns for hunting. The school where my kids go lots of the kids hunt. They are allowed to talk about it and there is no PC when it comes to guns. America is still out there. Hunting is a great time to build relations with your kids. I believe one thing hunting/shooting shows your kids is you trust them with a great responsibility. I haven't gone hunting since I was a teenager But I am involved in the shooting sports. I love to take my kids to the range. I hope they will have the same memories that you have of being with your dad Caseydog. Whether you hunt, shoot clay, Long range, IDPA, USPSA/IPSC or 3 gun we are all tied together. I am glad this thread has been allowed to continue on a MINI forum. As I said when I started the thread I don't want it to be political, there are gun forums for that. So I know I am treading on thin ice here but I will give this as food for thought to my fellow shooters. I read this a long time ago. When they came for my friends AR15 I did nothing because I don't own a AR15. When they came for my neighbor's AK47 I did nothing, because I don't own a AK. Now they are coming for my shotgun. It sure is lonely up here on my roof, by myself. Its Labor Day. I am finally going to go sight in my rifle. I can't wait! I hope everyone has a great day doing something fun!

I was not implying you wanted AR's or any other gun taken away. I like you have fond memories of hunting with your Dad. I was not trying to take away from that, I apologize if you took it differently. The point I was trying to make is hunting is just one discipline of many in the shooting sports. They all have different skills and all are valid, non more important than the other. It's the statement above I had a problem with. I am not at the range getting ready for ......something. I am honing a skill. A skill I use in competition, one I find fun and exciting. A skill I use in a volunteer gig I do. And most importantly a skill I may need one day to defend me, my family or others. In the town I live in I have been shot at, ran out of neighborhoods, my dads shop has been robed more times than I can count including his brother being knifed. Mostly I shoot for fun and to compete. But if the wolf comes knocking I will will be ready. I know you probably did not mean it this way but it sounded like some of the duck unlimited guys that look down there nose at my shooting sport in a false believe that the second amendment only applies to them. This is under "politics and other messy stuff" In the shop my son works at they sell ARs more when a threat pops up and looks to take them away. They sell hunting gun when it's time for hunting season. When I lived in Michigan the high schools closed on opening day and most of the companies were only at about half staff.
Yes I know its under "politics and other messy stuff" but I wanted this to be a fun thread. At the range I go to the rifle ranges fill up with people sighting in their hunting guns every fall. One thing I heard that I thought was funny and true was a FBI agent testifying in front of congress. He said he would rather face a gang banger with a fully automatic weapon then a farmer with a lever action 3030. He said the farmer never misses. So true. :lol:
I personally don't feel you owe anyone an apology. I believe your position is shared by many and is more the norm than not these days.
I shoot because I enjoy it, I have pistols at home for shooting target, defense and to enjoy collecting, nothing real fancy, would like a Python, but so would a bunch of folks. I have the 30-30, the 20 and the 12 gauge on the farm, I do not deer hunt, I would like to hunt Turkey in a year or so, perhaps. The 30-30 is for the nut-cakes who drive the country road and use the farm driveway as an off-road turnaround. I have had to sit out front on more than one weekend when at the farm, target shooting towards our East 40. Ah the good days, political stuff is ok we are all adults. Don
