    Nice back yard practice piece!

I bought a KWA LM-4 Airsoft rifle to do a little tactical training with some of my army buddies. It worked well when we had access to a few shacks that were on the same property as my buddy's old body shop, but it's not very accurate or effective at anything over 50 feet.

A friend practiced shooting from the hip with a Daisy Red Ryder style bb gun. He got real good up to about fifty feet!

On the subject of "toy" guns, I really, really want to make a spud gun, AKA a potato cannon. There are rules in Texas as what counts as a toy, and what is considered a firearm. The kind I want to make is considered a firearm, subject to firearm laws and regulations. The one I will probably build, eventually, is not.

    Anyone here have one?

There is just something about a homemade PVC bazooka that fires potatoes that appeals to me. Then again, I'd like to make one of these anvil launchers, too.

I put a little Sniper 4x32 Chevron scope on it. Paid a hundred bucks for it and it even has back-up sights affixed to the top.

Cant wait to get it out to the range and dial it in after the holidays.

Ok done with this project. (I hope) I have now spent more (almost double) on accessories than the actual cost of the CO2 "pellet toy riffle.

I have a PVC potato cannon, it's a lot of fun, loud too!

At work we made one out of steel pipe and fueled it with acetylene and oxygen. It would shoot a potato way way out into the bay. We also made noisemakers by putting dry ice in a plastic water bottle with a little water and toss them over the side of the ship.

I'm still gonna get my range time in as always. The threat lessens day by day...

    Happy New Year, Don!

That one would be a firearm here. You pretty much have to go with compressed air to avoid the firearm status. Being classified as a firearm puts big limits on where you can use it. You can't take it to the lake and shoot potatoes in the water if it is considered a firearm.

I definitely couldn't use in from my yard... but, I do have a surgical tubing water-baloon launcher for that.

I wasn't sure of the mfg. by looking at it on my phone. It looks fantastic!

You've inspired me. I'm thinking of doing my furniture in some sort of red base, just in defiance of the all black gun and lack of shelf bought options.

Yeah, I just wanted it to be different then all black like 95% of the others. May or may not hurt the value but I like it and that's all that matters currently.. :D
Post pics once you add color to it..

    I used this-- http://duplicolor.com/product/metalcast-anodized-automotive-paint
but have done the Hydro-dipped stuff on a hand gun a few years ago. You could also use about anything as long as you scuff, prime, paint.
The cool thing about the Dupli-color Anodized Paint is I didn't have to scuff the gun. Just spray adheisive promotor, Metcast Alum, then color of your choice of their Anodized Colors..
