I love mine. The Tapco 30 round mag pictured was junk so I returned it. Only Ruger mags for me now. Sorry can't help with where to shop in CA.
Shot a couple matches this weekend. Got footage of the USPSA match with Alpha Mike just outside San Antonio. I took first in my division (Carry Optics).
Kinda slow here, anyone doing any shooting now that the end of summer is here? I have not been shooting at all this summer, perhaps this month will allow so sessions. Don
Hadn’t shot in a while until a couple weeks ago. Up at a friends house and asked if we wanted to shoot some while up there. He broke out his M1, 1903, 1917 and some other things. Really liked that M1, may need to pick when up. Next up on the purchase list though looks like a Sig P365.
I just picked up a used Sig P938 to keep in the vehicle with a magnet. Comparision pic to my VP9 SK... Only been to the range once with it so far but was more accurate with it then I thought I'd be with such a short barrel.. MAy end up taking the laser off but it came with the gun...
Keep the laser on it, much easier to be on target with the short barrel unless you are up close and personal as you should be with the small pistol for defense.
I've got a baby Glock, the 26, I think, for home defense and occasional carry. I don't get out to the range often, but I try and get out at least once a year to keep the dust off of any skills I might have. I went to an outdoor range once that had steel targets. The range master said "you can take the lane at the end for now, but the targets are way too far down range for that gun... I'll move you to something better when it opens up." With my first magazine, I hit the steel 8 of 10 times (I'm guessing 30 yards out, 8" disks). The range master wandered down... "Any mods on that? (nope... just a sueded grip wrap) Looks like I don't need to move you after all! Nice shooting." Short barrel? Here's my daily carry in it's pocket holster. A Seecamp .380 (6+1). It damn-near rips my hand off with a barrel just over 2" long, but it's not something you hope to shoot that often. It's made for pocket carry and, with barrel that short, they skipped the sights!
Friend of mine has something like that and yes it isn't much fun to shoot but will get the job done if need be..
I shoot it 20-30 times a year. That's all I can stand in one session. I'll finish off my previous year's ammo, buy 2 boxes of new stuff that has the same lot number, shoot one box and then use the other box as my ammo for the year.
I've been super focused on training. I shot two major matches in the last couple weeks. I shot Area 4 Championships, and tanked. Tons of mental errors. Two weeks later I shot The Oilfiled Classic and did much better. I have one more major in November then I can get back to doing some AutoX and a touch of modding.
Yep. I’m proud of the boy. Started teaching him to shoot at age 5 with a little Crickett .22 that Santa brought him for his first Christmas. Now at 11 he hunts with his.243, my old .30 cal M1 Carbine, 20 gauge, and compound bow. Between me and his stepdad the boy will never be gun poor. When he started he was too small to use the shooting bench so he improvised.
