To be honest If it killed the cat so be it. I live in a place with no E-check & I think Lee does too. I'm the kind of guy who wants his car to be clean, but not at the cost of engine damage.

 

Yes, 160* is way to cool on a modern engine - it should be over 200

 

Awesome man! A Lotus is my dream car. Living vicariously. Enjoy the hell outta it.

And thank you, I do take the blame, but it appears we all wanted to live in your Lotus.

Take care, do it right, 2k on a cam, I think BS too. Sounds like you need to talke with a Lotus guy, anyone you can contact at the factory about the engine. Good to have a sympathetic contact or maybe a guy who races in SCCA local or National would do!

Enjoy it and updates when available. I will try not to repeat my blame game again.

Making some block off plates for the oil coolers seems like a good idea for cool weather use.

Those are great looking cars, especially in white or yellow. An Exige or Elise has been on my want list for a few years now.

Definitively make sure to use the right lift points. I remember seeing pics of a Lotus that fell off a lift backwards because the wrong lift points were used.

 

No matter what he does to it it will still run cleaner than the old pre-cat crap I drive!
