Got my letter a week ago and had it done yesterday. Nice and shiny again - first time the car was washed all winter!

Bought my 2011 MCS this past January 14th, 2012 as it was the last 2011 on the lot and was offered a great deal on it as dealer probably just wanted to move inventory. Saw the recall on the news 3 days after purchase and emailed my MINI agent about it. Was told that dealer had taken care of it already prior to selling it to me and the recall being all over the news. So I have been driving my car without worry the past 3.5 months and luckily no problems aside from a flat tire. Anyway, today I get a letter from MINI telling me I am part of recall after all...very disappointed that my MINI agent gave me misinformation regarding this recallbut glad I got the letter, and my MCS will get this recall done

You may find that the car has had the recall done already when you take it in. MINI will err on sending a letter to an already recalled vehicle rather than not send one.

The recall made me really like my dealer

I got my letter and called for my appointment, I arrived at my appointed time and my car was the first one in. My rep came into the waiting area while I was drinking my dealer provided coffee and informed me of the bulletin they had on replacing the timing chain tensioner etc. and ask if I wanted them to check it out. I said yes even though I did not seem to have a problem. He came out again and informed me I did need the repair but it would take a large part of the day. I had nothing else to do so I asked if they would do anything my JCW needed. They did all service bulletins as well as changed filters and drained and replaced the brake fluid. Then they replaced my 2008/2009 computer program with the latest version.

While they worked on my car I had their shuttle take me over to the Mall, I seen a couple of movies, Had a nice lunch and called for them to pick me up.

My car was almost finished when I got back and after the test drive I was on my way back home.

It was a very relaxing perfect day for me and now my car is in perfect tip-top condition and up to Parr with the recalls and bulletins as well as all of the service is done.

Orlando Mini is a very good dealer and I will recommend them to anyone.

My wife took her car in last week for the recall, they did the test drive, came back and decided it was making noise under the valve cover, so they decided to replace the timing chain and guides. So we are done with the dreaded timing chain debacle also
