I'm guilty of running my gas tank down to fumes at certain times of year -- when it is hot-as-hell, like it is now, and when it is cold, wet and windy, which happens a few weeks a year these days. I will milk the last drops to avoid standing out in the weather to fill the tank.
A few days ago, I stopped for gas. It was 100-degrees with 40-percent humidity, and the pump was super-slow. I got to ten bucks worth, and decided that was good enough.

Reality is while the clientele on the two sites are different, the questions tend to be similar....
Just folks tend to approach things a bit different here...
Sometimes with more checky humor, sometimes just less bs from vendors...lol...no ECS jumping in here on EVERY thread...lol...
I agree it usually lots more fun here...the humor here tends to be a bit more intentional.....
Over there...I tend to goan a bit more....a lot more unhappy people just searching for an answer who care less of fellowship, friendship, and fun.... -

And the cheapskate in me knows fuel is SOLD BY VOLUME not by weight, and it gets a bit more dense in cold weather....few US places have lumps that adjust for fuel temp....but many Canadian places do....so in the US you tend to get more bang for the buck in cold temps....
Honestly....fuel up before you get the light....running that low is very hard on the pump...they run hot...andit tends to shorten their life a bit....failure is sometimes just slightly lower PSI....that is a pain to figure out....or just stoppage....a quick hit to the top or bottom of the tank will get you cople more days if that happens.
A few of us rember regional blackouts....it would suck to be unable to get home cause you don't have enough gas....just saying!! -

Noobs with a genuine desire to drive fast are open to the idea that driving fast is like being a good batter in baseball or a good football player. You need good coaching, and a lot of time and practice.

As a returning member to both forums, I know I've posted less on here than NAM, but it seems both have changed a lot since I last owned a Mini 5 years ago. Yes NAM is full of noobs asking silly questions, but I've seen more snark to said noobs on here than on NAM. Yes, this comment may give me more snark, but it seems like people on here are more out for making fun or teasing people for simple questions or "silly" mods they don't agree with.

I read a thread at nam titled "post something positive". It made me want to puke....
Think of it like this.
Comparing nam to ma is like comparing Outback Steakhouse to Fogo de Chao. Or Walmart to whole foods. At outback (nam) you have a bunch of pissed off corporate workers reading from a script serving mainstream kibble. At Fogo de Chao (ma) you have a more refined setting with workers who have more, let's say, experience... -

Fogo de Chao is really expensive meat cooked on a spit, that is a good value if you can eat ten-plus pounds of meat at one meal. If you can't. you will pay about fifty bucks a pound for your dinner that consists of a half-pound of food. Basically, Fogo de Chao is a restaurant for really fat people who measure taste by the pound.
BTW, Outback Steakhouse isn't qualified to cook a steak for my dog. Yeah, he would probably eat an Outback steak, and like it... but ye also eats rabbit poo... and seems to like it.
The only difference is that rabbit poo is not as tough.

So here's my advice for an overnighter... Fire it up and run the fuel out of it (open garage door first), then disconnect the battery. No need to drain the oil, it'll be fine. Now if you park on your lawn, put the car on jack stands so it'll be more likely to be there in the morning.
