Researching a P1497 code for our newly acquired '08 mini S, your site popped up in the yahoo search. I visited, liked what I saw and signed-up. BTW, this is our 1st mini (my wife's car). I'm fairly handy, but no mechanic. If I encounter a problem with our autos or around the house, I research and attempt my own fixes if I'm reasonably confident that I may be able to do so. If not, I make the call or the visit to someone that does. Worked on my own cars as a boy ('50 Merc flathead 8 and '62 Chevy 327 Impala SS), then ventured into NASCARS Al-Pro series in the '90s which gets you comfortable quickly working on vehicles in general. Haven't owned many foreign cars in my 68 years. Amazed at how much "stuff" is packed into such a small car with this mini. My wife absolutely loves it, so I'll be sure to keep it in tip-top shape.
