Hi from Santa Fe, NM USA, 7,000ft above sea level!
Chad Mitchell sent me a Motoring Alliance magnet with my Detroit Tuned Bypass Valve, so I took the plunge.
Here's a pic of my 2006 MCS. I installed the BPV Saturday. Look for my post about it in the MINI Stuff forum.

Welcome aboard. Santa Fe was really neat back in the 70's when I was there.

I'm a new member. Got here through Google search on brake pads. Found a very good link on replacement which required membership. My 2007 has run out of the free maintenance period and hope to do my own regular maintenance to save $. Last oil change at MINI dealer cost $165 (ouch!).
I work in the auto industry and hope to contribute to this club.

    Newbie

I found this site while I was googling some part numbers regarding the underfloor coating of my R56 cooper S and since I mentioned this, maybe somebody could help me with this matter. Basically I found that my car under the engine has no protection plates and I believe these are the part numbers 51752755791 and 51752755792. It has the underfloor coating that starts behind the front wheels and ends at the back of the car, but under the engine there is no coating, hope that somebody can shed some light on this.

    Thanks!

    Andreas from sunny Cyprus.[IMG]

    Chuck from rainy Columbus, Ohio.

The parts you are describing are under panels that improve the air flow under the vehicle. They are plastic and aren't really designed for protection other than the occasional errant pebble. They normally are a part of the JCW kit, but some marketing locations did not include them for some strange reason. MINI did not make aerodynamic under panels for directly under the engine. If you want something to cover up this area, some aftermarket companies offer an aluminum designed skid plate.
In the rear where the two under panels stop, that you describe, the factory Challenge aero diffuser tunnels make their attachment and continue back to the JCW rear bumper.
The package is designed to smooth out the airflow under the vehicle for lower drag and increased grip.

    Hello Chuck!

Many thanks for taking time to reply, so the part numbers in my post are for the rear part then and it is normal that my car is naked under the engine?

I have the impression that under my car there is only two plates the ones that run behind the front wheels until the rear wheels and on either side of the exhaust pipe, I am not sure I see anywhere the two parts that I mentioned in my first post, tomorrow I will take a picture and send it to you, maybe you can tell me if I am missing something.

    Thanks,

    Andreas.

I did not find M/A, M/A "Nathan" found me at the Dragon a few years ago. He was handing out cards for M/A which was not on-line yet but he had me sold when he said "Its a site for MIN enthusiast and people who are sick of then NAM"
