The Obligatory How did you find Motoring Alliance Thread

Just browsing and stumbled upon MA.

 

I found it through MidCal MINI's website.

 

I was looking for the MINI eyes and saw them for sale on this site and ordered them. I didn't join then but a week or so later I was at the gas station near Ohio State campus and you walked over to me and handed me your card and told me to come get donuts sometime. That day I believe I joined.

 

Nothing special to find the site, just Googled Mini sites, looked at a few and thought this one was the best. We just ordered our new Mini this week, so we've got some waiting to do. Previously owned a 1987 MR2 for 25 years, but had to sell it when we moved. Really missed having a "Go Cart" so we've ordered the Mini.

 

Found this site looking for answers ...

I have. 2011 mini s cooper and was looking for people or some sort of answer to my issues with my car ... I just was told my new car needs the high power fuel pump replaced and since my warranty has now been expired due to the high way miles of 50,012 I have to pay 1200 out of pocket to fix it . I found out that in past models the warranty was extended ... How can they get away with this and sell cars with defected parts ... If they have this reputation why not extend it to all the models ... It started of by a simple sputtering upon start .. Then little by little got worse. Anyone have any idea on how to get BMW to extend the warranty , I am pissed ! I had a Pontiac Aztec with 169,000 miles before I needed to rePlace the fuel pump ... Btw the aztec still runs ... :beer

 

:cornut: I certainly wish that I had the knowledge of MINI USA/MINI UK/BMW Germany to help you but hopefully some one 'in the know' will be along shortly. I have a great story about how permission to fix my 08 R56 MCS/JCWm went-Dealer-USA-UK-Germany-UK-USA-Dealer then finally fixed at dealer expense. Some people get VERY upset when I tell the story stating that I'm harming MINI/BMW/Dealerships. Now several years later, it's hilarious but at the time:mad5::incazzato::mad2:

New Mini (Almost) Owner!

After paying down college loans, and saving after college, i've ordered my first mini! Hope to have it arrive January 5th if all goes well. Motoring Alliance pops up all over the place online, and it really helped me decide on features and making sure this was the right car for me. it, of course, is

searching in the web for information about MINI stuff an DIY

 

Ordered some magnetic badges and got a fridge magnet. That and MA hosts Chicago Mini Motoring 's web site on their server.

 

I came across Motoring Alliance in a cool way. I was looking at where traffic to my MINI blog was coming from and it turns out that a few MA members posted links to articles I wrote and posted on my site (so the traffic was coming from Motoring Alliance!). It was a VERY cool way to discover the forum! Looking forward to being a member of the community.

Stumbled across this forum trying to see if our 949 Racing wheels are fitting on the mini cooper since I'm buying one and I have a few sets lol. I somewhat work with Emilio and live close to the shop, crew with the race team, and I live by the 6UL wheels. I'm glad to see I'll be able to use them and autocross on my affordable miata tires haha.

 

I found MA looking for answer to a few questions I have about my Mini and every time the MA link pop up with the answer. Great site and a lot of info.

2 MINI Household

I've had my 2010 Cooper S since new with the plate "MINISQL". I've always wanted a yellow convertible and this month I was lucky enough to find one at Chequered Flag International on ebay. I found out later that it (the 05 MINI) had been owned by a club member who you probably know-Jerry Polyak. I found his phone # among the carefully kept documents and phone him to let him know where his baby had gone. It's in Colorado Springs now, bunking next to my blue 2010. I'll add pics of both MINIS when I figure out this wonderful website. Thank You, Jerry.
