Gross Estimate: 250-300 HP, 180-250 TQ
I'm not even attempting to get closer than that. The numbers will tell the tale.
But I'm not even taking it to the dyno for a while. Jan is going to tune it using data logs on the road. More real-world than tuning on the dyno.

Drove some more late today. Ambient temps were about 20 degrees cooler. Managed to get up to about 12.8PSI boost. The car is even stronger at lower ambient temps, as expected. But I think it's getting stronger as it breaks in. It's a beast even with the stock blower.

Now, on the other hand, if you had converted to E85 and slapped a TVS on there, you would have forced me to consider it...-

I just went out and walked the scene and figured out what happened, mostly. The punchline is... the car did an end-over! Planted the nose in an embankment (after plowing down a deep ditch for about 100 feet), the rear end came over, I flew upside down for about 20-30 feet, and landed on the left rear corner, on the shoulder of the road... then the car just flopped back into the roadway in turtle position. So I don't think it ever "violently" contacted the cage , just rocked on the corners a bit as the car settled into place. Really wish I had video, because it would have been one of the most spectacular things to witness...
I just had to stop and catch my breath when I figured it out. Because there's a zillion ways that could have ended worse, and no way it could have ended better, really. No one walks away from the kind of crash this was... really.-

So, just the one skidmark, right? Well, that'll either wash out or you can just go buy another pair.
It is a hell of a testimony to your GPR design, though. No one wants to test the safety aspects of something they birth like this, but a front flip is about as extreme as it comes. Good job, there, Paul.
No one ever said you did anything halfway...-

No convertible should be without a good rollbar, the idea that the windshield frame will hold up in a roll over is pure rubbish.

Yep, my fab guy could have gone a bit wider and taller. With the current bar as a prototype, he could certainly get the next one about perfect. If I do it again, I'll also have it tied forward to the cowl, to prevent windshield collapse. Makes the car a pain to get in and out of... but makes it much safer, too.-

Oh my goodness Paul, I miss a few days reading your build then I get the shock of my life..noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. First: Glad to hear you're ok, Second: like me you know what a good roll cage is! Third: like me you know it can be rebuilt! I feel your pain. Sorry to see that beast bent up.

Done probably means TVS. The guy that did the X-1 frame is doing the cage. Seats and 7 point harnesses going in.. Got a steering wheel going in, and whatever lines for monitoring I need for fail safe alarms on the dash. At least I don't need gauges. And then hopefully Owen (5zero) gets to add some stuff. If it's all done in a week, hide all your women, I already have three kids, they're great but I don't need any more, and anyone within a thirty foot radius is at risk of accidental pregnancy once I get the all done message.
When I write it all up, it's going to make "War and Peace" look like a short essay.-

We're just trying to figure out if you're the Baryshnikov, Flying Wallenda, or the Gerald Ford exiting an airplane of the MINI world...

I just wish you lived closer. Short of a professional I don't know anyone else who's taken these apart and put them back together again as many times. Except for maybe Dick. So I'll change that to taken apart and put them back together within a reasonable amount of time and so that they don't explode.

Oil analysis is back... and looks GOOD
This is 180 miles on Rotella T, plus running the motor up to temp on the lift after the crash. The tiny bit of lead is well within normal range. All the wear metals look great for a brand new motor. And the strong compression and leak down numbers from my earlier tests show that the motor already has good ring seal. With the run time on the rack after the crash, if the bearings were damaged, we'd see more lead here.
