In classic "me" form, I told the wife on Saturday that I would do it over a couple of months.
Monday, it was operational.
Wednesday, it was pretty much complete.
Friday, it will be done.

Step 6 - interior refitted
Still have some tricks up my sleeve to improve this part.
The GP Roadster is starting to take form. Still some work to do. More updates forthcoming.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention some of the other stuff I've done since MOTD:
- Had my broken header flex joint replaced (again).
- Replaced worn-out JCW exhaust with Milltek (noticeably more Tq)
- Replaced leaky coolant reservoir with RMW aluminum tank
- Replaced worn-out tires with Dunlop Direzza II, 225/50R16, with front 5mm spacers and longer wheel bolts.
- Replaced Evap system carbon filter (it was due).

And THESE are NOT for the street... because that would just be silly.
But required at the track and on the hill climbs for top-down action.
Gotta get another pair for any instructor who is brave enough to ride with me top-down.

Another important detail...
Brey-Krause R-9522 FE mount finally arrived. I couldn't stand to have anything green in my car (other than dollar$) so I plasti-dipped the clamp blocks.
I already owned the Safecraft Halon extinguisher and QR mount, they were mounted under the seat in my old setup. This seems more appropriate now.

Test drive complete... All good. Got most of the coating worn off the new rotors. Averaging 15.0 mpg this tank, so far.

Oh, Dave... this is after I plowed the field sideways... I suspect it will make you cringe.

I now have the GreyLenz because the last time I called the wife to "pick me up" I was at the Uvalde Emergency Clinic following an encounter with a buzzard just east of Leakey Texas. The buzzard won. He flew away. I lost, especially when I slowly scuffled out of the clinic with my right arm in a sling...I lost the Triumph and a whole lot of good will.
The Lenz was the closest feeling I could get to the motorcycle and still have the four wheels decreed as essential for any further wondering about the hill country for "fun."-

Been there, done that. You were carrying good speed through that corner, looks just about right, and got on the throttle a bit too early and too hard--commendable for an automatic! A few of the other corners, you came in slower, and got on the throttle early, but because you weren't carrying as much speed you got away with it.
The thing with the Mini is if you get on the throttle too soon near the limit of the corner, it understeers like a pig, you can't get on it as quickly as with RWD, where at most corners they're at or close to full throttle at the apex. For the MINI, unless it's a challenge car or set up like one, we're at full throttle when we start to unwind the wheel. If you can get on the throttle before that, then the car's telling you you can carry more speed into the corner.-

Put a big suction cup on the giant dent in my door yesterday and it popped right out. Car looks about half as effed up now.
Now just need to use the glue puller on the rest of the dents and polish it out. Will be a couple of weeks before I get around to that.
Do need to pull the bumper and do some work on that, at some point. Not in a big hurry... it's a track car.-
