Damn that's impressive Paul, nice job! Where did you get that coolant bleeder/filler? That looks damned easy, and there is nothing worse than an air pocket in the cooling system...

Break in on ours was start it, warm it up, do the short drive, change the oil and then the next day drove 200 mi to Vegas to go to Wuste and AMVIV. It was 200 mi. of yo-yo driving. Had it changed there and did the same thing on the way home. I'm sure a lot of people were wondering why we kept racing up and then dropping back over and over again. It got 400 mi out of the way fast though.

First thing I thought when I saw the picture was thank god you put that roll at in. Engine should be fine. In the future, find the limits on the track, too much can go wrong in the country, but you already know that.

    Now you have two donors...

No doubt you'll get a fully functional Cabrio up and running in no time, I bet you probably already found one on EBay!

Thanks guys. Appreciate it. I'm just happy to be in one piece... the car did what it should in that regard. I do wish I had been wearing my helmet.

Might be a requirement from now on with top down... or maybe a halo seat...

Bummer, but could have been much, much worse. 16 years of convertible driving have given me good "save your arms" instincts.

Temporary setback. If I do it right, will let me correct a couple of things I didn't love about the car...

Paul, we are all grateful you are still with us.

This could have been an awful tragedy.

Keep an eye on that melon of yours.

This, after talking to Jan. DON'T reuse the old one. Same principle of not reusing a helmet that's been in an accident.

Oh, I certainly get that, and wouldn't think of it if there's anything more than cosmetic damage to the bar. But it the bar has scraped paint and no other problems... Jan's free to buy me a new bar.

I will certainly be replacing drivers side harness parts...

Paul, I hope you're starting to feel better. Thankful to hear that you had someone on your side. That must have been one helluva ride. Get better soon!

Wow those are some ugly pictures. Your MINI sure took a beating for you. Hope you are doing well, keep an eye out on how you feel. Get to the ER if anything unusual shows up. You took a powerful thumping.

Like I said on Saturday... it may be the "most broken" MINI I've ever seen.

But there's a ton of important stuff intact, and other stuff that's fixable. New chassis and a pile of parts, plus a weeks work... and it's a car again. As good as ever.

Wow that looks really bad. Really glad to see you're OK. Best of luck moving forward, but damn that's a serious bummer with all the work you've done.

NOTICE: I am now accepting proposals for my OEM parts business for the next few months. Reply privately if you are a purveyor of OEM parts and want an everlovin crap-ton of business, and are willing to treat me more-right-than-typical on pricing and shipping.

I suspect this will be thousands of dollars worth of parts. Happy to entertain a discount rate based on projected purchases, with a claw-back provision if I don't buy the volume we anticipated. But I suspect it's gonna be more parts than most of your wholesale partners buy. Will need some oversized stuff like new bonnet, so would be great if one source can handle the shipping requirements of those types of parts also.

    I'm serious.

Sorry, going to Cedar Point today, visiting Wellzy tomorrow. Not much activity for the next couple of days...

It's gonna take a little while... But will be faster than Dick and Jan's projects
