Sorry - yes, you add the anti-sub strap setup to the Profi-II ASM FE - I forgot it didn't come with that (I edited my post above). That's the setup on my passenger side. I leave the ASM strap in all the time. Schroth now says it's fine to use with a HANS, even. I stow the crotch straps or just let them hang over the front of the seat (looks cooler) when not in use.
I got the Hybrid for the driver's side because (a) it's more comfortable and (b) it works better. Though it is a little bit more effort to hook up the anti-sub straps each time you harness up at the track. But after a few times it's no big deal. So on the driver's side I had to add the ASM shoulder strap and an FE buckle for the street.
I'm glad I got the Hybrid setup... but I rode at the track in the passenger seat with the Profi-II setup last weekend, and it was fine.

So if you know what you're looking at, it's pretty obvious in this pic:
The paint on my XP12 brake pad has turned to ash. I do that a lot. :cornut:
When I was replacing my rotors, I noticed that this time I probably did it a little more than usual... because the outer jacket of the wheel speed sensor wire, for about the last 2" above the bracket, had melted to the point that it actually flowed and made a little drip/glob on top of the bracket.
Guess I should keep a couple of spares of those in my track box... Though I doubt I will be running as hot from now on. -
Yesterday was the first day at the track I had Jan's backing plates on my front brake air ducts, made a huge difference, not just in the rotors, but in the pad wear. Much shorter distance from the tubing to the hub center, better angle, than what I had before, I'd put it at the top of your list, it'll help your brakes immensely.
The ABS bleed appears to have worked wonders as well. -

Any pics of those backing plates? Definitely planning to do ducts now. Heat management really is everything. I bought hose for it a few years ago but never did it. Think I'm going to try N2MINI's ducts when he has a set for me. Glowing rotors look cool.... But aren't.
Glad the ABS bleed worked for you. -
I'll take pics or try to find some pics of them--with the ducts, they work much better with a backing plate rather than a hose on a bracket (like the Sneed ducts). You'd have to make something custom for your brakes, I know Jan has them made for Brakeman, stock, and JCW brakes, but those aren't going to fit. They wouldn't be too hard to do a custom fab job for though.

Here are pics of the setup for the RMW/Brakeman calipers, looks like these might be close to working as-is, maybe with minor mods?
cct1 - I assume this is your setup... What would keep these from fitting my setup?
-
Each caliper is going to have a different clearance, and they may--or may not--clear with minor modification. What you can't see is how they attach--they attach to the dogbone, with a spacer between the dogbone and the brake duct, you have to drill two holes in the dogbone. I actually changed mine a little--you can't see the second attachment point in that pic, but it is actually inside the brake duct inlet. I cut it out to get more airflow, and put a second hole in the plate above the inlet--it's rock solid stable, it needs two bolts for that, but the exact location isn't critical. It's a slick setup the way the lower edge of the duct sits above and goes half way around the spindle.
You might ask Jan to send you a single duct to see how/if it fits, and wether it lines up with the dog bone properly, if it does, order the second one, if it doesn't, take measurements off of it and see if he can make you a set for your setup. I think your calipers may a bit taller than the Brakeman calipers, but the wider brakeman rotor may make the overall length pretty close, meaning it's possible they'll be very close to fitting. If that's the case, all you'd need is a proper spacer, and that would be very easy to sort out.
The air to the hub helps everything though--not just the brakes, but the sensor wire you melted, hub bearings, outer ball joint and boot, etc. Whatever you spend on them you'll recoup on decreased wear and tear. -

Yep - I'm trading emails with Jan to see if he can send me an unfinished pair - that way if all they need is a little nudge, I can mod them myself. Otherwise take measurements and have him fab a set as you suggest.
-
It may not be exactly what you want, but I really, really like the simplicity of Sneed's kit. This is the brake cooler kit I've been considering.

Well it sucks you are going to miss some track time, but Its good that YOU are ok.
AutoTragics are nothing but problems IMO... Just one more part of the car you have little to no control over. -
Glad to hear you're doing better!

Glad your doing better. Wish I could help with the Auto, but they have always been a bit of a dark art to me. -

So last night I was definitely reading all known knowledge regarding the manual swap... If it ever comes down to pulling the engine to pull the tranny to have a rebuild, I might actually try it. I'm not afraid of manuals. I've driven my buddy's GP2 and his Lotus Evora. I get it. But I think I'll lick this auto issue before it comes to that.
-
I wonder if your track time would even be any different. I would be cool if there was some kind of SMG type of conversion. then you get the best of both worlds.
-
I thought someone made a sequential box for this application. Hmmmm. I thought I saw one. Not that M7 auto thing. That's not what I thinking of.

Finally got my copy of BMW INPA and DIS running. Those tools are awesome. Was able to diagnose a specific bad solenoid in the new valve body. Valve body rebuilder is sending me a replacement. Still possible that I may have some issues beyond that, but one thing at a time. Should be able to work on it next weekend.
I'm actually kinda looking forward to pulling the engine and doing a DIY rebuild of that transmission... I think it's ready for new clutches. But I'm going to put that off a little linger if I can. Would love to make it to winter before I get into that project... -
The software....is it the one from the guy on eBay in Romanian?
Been intrigued with the software pack....seems much better that the other options....
