By the way... the GP only had 76k miles on it, half as many as Blimey. So, if all is well with the GP engine, it's going in my car. I'll swap in my RMW cam and get a fresh tune. Keep my old engine (which is still strong) as a spare or future "built" engine core.
GP Wing and Rear Interior are still available, if anyone wants to make an offer. Contact me via PM if interested. After I receive the car, I'll be posting them on the various marketplaces, with copious pics, etc. But here's an opportunity for folks to get dibs on them, for following this thread. Lowest offers I'm really willing to consider are be in the range of $1500 + shipping for the wing, and $1000 + shipping for the interior. Both would be available for MOTD delivery. Yes, that's an insane amount of money. And about half MSRP. For genuine GP parts.
Blimey, I see no mention of the seats on either the keep or sell lists. I'm interested if that was simply an oversight. Nice to see you back on-line.
Thanks. Valid question. I'm not going to use the seats, but I don't know whether they're in sellable condition until I see the car. If they're any good, and anyone wants them, I'll sell them. Unfortunately, they're not the awesome euro Recaros. There's nothing really special about the US GP seats, except the color.
Gawd, I hope so. :confused5: I just told my driving gang, "you do realize, I'm going to have like three weeks to re-learn how to shift manual, with anger, before MOTD?" I'm going to be shifting like a teenager in a Ferrari. It's gonna be pretty ugly for a while, I'm afraid. I've driven friends' MINIs and Lotuses and stuff A LITTLE in the past few years. But it's been 30 years since I've driven manual more than occasionally. Last manual I owned: My 1977 TR7. Sold in 1986. At least, since then, I've learned that slipping the clutch isn't a good thing.
Well, I am definitely interested in the seats if you find them salable. With only 76k, I'm hoping they're in good shape. It's warming up here in Michigan and I'm starting to get a little anxious to get behind the wheel.
Driving stick is like riding a bike. If you have done it before it will all come back to you. If not you will be really good at installing new clutches.
The GP is on a truck en route from Ohio to NC, will be in my driveway tomorrow morning!!! And I was able to identify the car, and trace back to the recent and original owners! Sadly, it's this car, that was listed for sale here by the original owner just a few months ago... GP0769 http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/minis-sale/22913-2006-mini-cooper-s-jcw-gp-sale.html
