I don't need that shirt. I'll never stop looking at myself in the mirror, and I'll never find reverse again.
I try to give my car a good spraying underneath after driving in any kind of snow/salt. Some people just drive their cars in the winter and let the car sit dirty until spring... that's no way to do it.
Crank sensor replaced and tested. Car put back together completely with all braces and bumper hardware for the first time in 7+ months. Went for a drive, threw a P2270 code. First time I've ever had that one. Post-cat O2 sensor stuck lean. Which in my car means the O2 sim isn't working. Pulled the O2 sensor, and yep, crappy solder job had broken loose. Fixed a million percent better, won't break again. Reinstalled. About to drive some more.
Will you have this car at the Dragon? After following this thread I really want to see it and shake the owner's hand for doing an incredible job. It's a 'must see'...
Thanks - and MOST DEFINITELY. Look for the convertible with only two seats, that's half cool blue and half thunder blue. There will probably only be one like that. But, be forewarned. It doesn't sit around Fontana much during the daytime.
Still fighting the P2270. Will swap in the OEM header and O2 sensor, and try it, that will probably get me past inspection. Some treasures came today: Black microsuede boots w/dark red stitching, to match my seats. BIG box... wonder what this could be? Ohhhhhhh Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! Not going to use the bumper cover for a while... but I have it when I'm ready for it.
Make sure the lower splitter is in the box. Mine wasn't, had to make a call to get it. Wasn't from ECS though.
I ordered them both together, they only sent the bumper, but told me it was all in the same box. Anyway, if the GP bumper fascia is in good shape it doesn't matter. When I put the GP bumper on, I had to do some creative fastening on the lower part because of my splitter; once you've put in brake ducts and an aftermarket splitter some attachment points don't work.
Working on swapping door speakers (moving my HK speakers into the GP doors, now on Blimey). Discovered that the HK door harness is different than the stock audio harness. Not trivial to R&R the harnesses, but must be done. Might as well swap mirror bodies while I'm at it (Blimey's are heated).
It's pretty much impossible to remove the door harness with the window down. And the windows were down on my old doors... and attached to a car with no power, no fuses, no hope of getting them up with the switch. So I figured out the pinout of the connector, jumped 12v to pins 26 and 27 with my probes, and cackled maniacally when the window went up under its own power. One HK door harness removed. Will complete this part of the project tomorrow, hopefully.
This has "caption this" written all over it. I'll start: "If there's something strange, in your neighborhood," "Who you gonna call?" "Ghostbusters!!!!" I ain't afraid of no ghost....
I haz HK agin Crappy stock speakers on left, HK on right. Doesn't look like HK, but is. I like the look of the stock speaker trim, actually. I think it's more attractive than the HK on my old door panels. And now you know, it fits over the HK door speakers. Also swapped out the mirror bodies, to get my heated mirrors back. With the red caps. Sounds soooooooo much better now. When I fired it up to test, what song was on the radio? Doobie Brothers, Listen to the Music. Awesome.
Sounds like you ought to make a jaunt east after MOTD and cherry pick over the parts pile in Paul's Garage.
FINALLY. Only took 2 months, a transmission swap, computer swap, header swap, O2 sensor swap, custom back-up light wiring... I have never been so happy to have one of these things in my life. Took three tries to pass. But now certified street legal for 11 more months... registration renewed and taxes paid, w/late fee. NEW TAG ordered....
