    You have 2 easy solutions.

    1. Buy a convertable and put the roof down when you put the car on the lift.

    2. Cancel your gym membership, take down your garge opener and use your arms to open the door.

Another piece of the puzzle arrived...
    3B4987F5-A7EC-4F6B-887B-956161ECB7B5_zpsxqwvdz2n.jpg

RMW race header, with wideband and EGT bungs, sized for future TVS system.
    It's beautiful.

I plan to get the car on the lift tomorrow and start Strokin' the GPness.

I suggested the JH because I have more experience with that than the wrap. I had a set of stainless two into two pipes for my Harley done and it worked so well i didn't need to fabricate heat shields for them. Supposedly drops outside temps by 50% and improves scavenging. Never dynoed it so can't really speak to any added performance. I can say the pipes never blued on me and held up great cosmetically. The headers on my Vette are coated and look like they did when I installed them 15 years ago. YMMV

Yeah, I'm reading up on it now. Dunno what I'm going to do yet. I had thought about either wrapping or coating months ago, but had forgotten until you asked.

There's a company in Burlington that does JH Coating. I've been talking with them about coating a new DP for me.

OK, Jan tells me not to wrap it. So I won't. Still trying to decide if it's worth the $ and hassle to coat it.

Makes the exhaust sound awesome too, going from the shorty header to the full length is a noticeable noise difference, motor also feels 'freer' high up. You'll have to adjust your fueling - it leans out a little when you change.

We've had that header since Jan first made them and never had a code related to it.

Just read this build, awesome work and when you have done it yourself it is so much more rewarding when it all works out. I kind of did the same with my VW, took a rare, numbered, limited wrecked car, only 2000 made, and transplanted it into a new shell. Can't wait to see more goodness with the RMW goodies.

    Making progress, finally.

First time I've put the Mini on the lift... it works!

Pulling bumpers, axles, etc. is sooooo much easier at eye level.

And this is the way to drain engine and transmission oil...

Progress for the day: Pulled bumper, wheels, axles, wheel liners, x-brace, intercooler, header, airbox. Started disconnecting harness. Drained fluids.

Took new header to my exhaust shop to have second O2 bung added. They called an hour later to tell me it's done, will get it tomorrow. Then will probably ship to Jet-Hot for Extreme 2500 white coating.

Beer time. Carolina Brewing Summer Ale. Yum.

I need to figure out how to get commission on these lifts. Had a guy stop by today who saw it... and I'm pretty sure he'll buy one.
