I kinda dig it... Dropped off at the painter today. Should have a Thunder Blue test panel done for me to approve on Monday. Then GAME ON
Paint sample! Beautiful unfaded Thunder Blue. Which never looks right in pictures, including this one! But just trust me... It's right. Gave them the thumbs-up to make the car this color. It will be awesome. And another box of parts from Steven at eMINIParts.com! Battery box under panel, brackets for GP underbody panels, and cowl beltline clips.
IT'S HAPPENING..... Visited the paint shop today to answer a few detailed questions about things. Body, doors, hood, cowl, A-panels will probably be in the booth tomorrow. Trim is DONE. And looks fantastic. Loaded up the bumpers and skirts and stuff and hauled them home. I LOVE this color... Perched atop a mountain of parts... waiting on the rebuild... Things are going to get serious pretty quick, maybe by this weekend...
This is a bit like watching a mad scientist at work, or the U.S. version of project Binky. The question is can you put it back together without having that one extra bolt?:biggrin5:
The problem is, I have multiples of everything all intermixed. So I would never know. Unless it's an "important" bolt.
While I'm pretty confident in my ability to put it all back together... it is kinda like someone giving you three old jet skis completely disassembled in boxes, with the parts intermixed, and telling you to have fun with that.
But, in my opinion, this should be the practical final exam for a Master Mechanic certification. Build a fully functional car (that has never run before, in this form) from a hodgepodge of parts. Separates the men from the beta-males.
I really wish you would film this, it would make it a cool video! It could be shown at the Dragon. At least put up some GoPro cameras is the operating room and do a time laps of it from different angels. If you weren't so lazy you would di it!
You're gonna have so much sh*t left over, you're have no idea if it's put together correctly. Not that it will matter.
I might actually do the time lapse with the GoPro. That's a good idea. Just need to figure out placement and power.
