I dropped Lush from the thread title, so it does not appear all we do is drink beer and stumble about while visiting the shade tree. Not that that may happen from time to time

I have decided the best thing about my 49cc Honda scooter, is the fact that 99% of the time I have it at WOT:lol:.

So going on 3 years with the 07 (June).
It has been washed a few times per week at least 2 times per month. I use prima for wash and the power wash during the winter.
The only body prep. has been Hydro at each wash and Banana Gloss to bring up the shine on the bonnet.
It is time to clay, polish and do a serious waxing. What do you all think?
Process, product, final wax?

old81, can you post some pictures of your paint? If you do, get either sunlight, or a bright light shining on the area of the photo, like this, to helps us see the condition of the paint.
As to product, I would stick to the Prima line, as you are already using other products from their line.
You should clay the car, regardless of what else you do, as it will remove surface contaminants. It is easy to do, and will take about an hour to do the whole MINI.
Prima Epic will give you great protection, and with Hydro, and Banana Gloss will last a year, although a lot of us apply it twice a year, spring and late fall.
Amigo is a great polish, and can be done by either a PC or by hand. Using a PC will give you better results though.
This is probably just the start of many questions you will have, feel free to start another thread here in the detailing forum, so your questions, and the answers you get are not buried in with the more random:lol: topics that go on in this thread.

Mark, I'm pretty loaded up with the Prima products. I have Richard's "How To DVD" but haven't opened it yet. I plan to watch it this weekend while it rains. Could you post your steps for a good Spring MINI Spa treatment? Starting with your wash process, and ending with the Banana Gloss? I have the BW, and plan to start with that first so it has time to sit and soak in to the trim, as I understand this step can eliminate the painters tape step.:aureola:

I would like to see Porter Cable "tips" or "how to" --- My technique could stand a lot of improvement.

The best "How To" is OctaneGuy's (Richard) DVD ShowCarSupplies.com Shopping Cart - How-to Use the PC for Show Car Results
That said, I'll write something also that will touch on a few basic things.

Hey Mark, how about adding your write up to the Detailing Library? :yesnod:

I tend to be rather pithy in my writing, and I have NO skill at article writing, and it's detailing season, but I have some ideas.

Man I'm so glad that this is Motoring Alliance where I'm welcome even if I'm unable to drink alcohol. What with Diabetes and Heart Disease post Angioplasy and Stent @ the mere tender young age of 57yo;I'm now only allowed Starbucks.Don't feel sorry though guys.Believe me:I drank up my entire allotment by the time I was 50yo and listening to y'all helps me "Deja Vu" as it were.:cornut:Jason

Raining here right now, but it looks like it may clear up later this afternoon. Hopefully the MINIs can have a bath.
Oh, I got the gig with the Opera building props, start in 3 weeks.
