Back in the early days when MINI's were rare we all waved. Not so much anymore. Here in Texas, if you're not on a busy road, just about everyone waves no matter what you're driving. Howdy.

 

I always wave & always get funny looks.

 

I wave, the older I get and the younger the other drivers are, the looks get funny.

It is hit or miss, I think a lot more MINIs are sold to commuters and the dealers are shifting from promoting a fun car to transportation.

When I drive the Countryman, it is more like only 25 % wave, when I drive the MCS, it has been a 60/40 mix.

Ah! well, maybe MINIUSA will start promoting the wave versus backflips.

I still wave, get some back. I wave at the jeeps when in my Jeep! Sometimes I get confused and wave at Minis when in my Jeep and get strange looks.

 

I've discovered geography plays a part in Michigan. In Grand Rapids I've gotten 3 waves in 4 months. However in Detroit last weekend I got 5-6 in 48 hours. One guy even flashed his headlights to get my attention. First time that has happened. :biggrin5:

 

I love to wave and I love when they wave back! I will even wave from the other side of the highway, just in case they can see me.

 

I always wave. Either a peace sign, or a wave, depending on the recipient.

 

I wave and if I get no response then I do the Dave.0.

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again, everyone in a MINI gets a wave... Those more deserved (not usually a MINI driver) might just get the single finger up against the glass! Depends on how I feel at the moment. :beer

 

I would love to wave at other MINI drivers .... but my Roadster S is on order in England. If you saw me waving from my Budget rental car (Fiat 500), you would think I was a crazy Italian lost on the shores of America!

 

No, I would just think it was someone trying to get my attention because they want to get out of that turd!

 

Don't be mean, Mark. Fiats are not all THAT bad, IMO, but they should have stayed in Europe.

 

The "tap on the roof" is a signal for LEO ahead on the Dragon.

I will start waving to every MINI owner when parents can control their cars in stores and babies are banned from airplanes. :lol:

 

Don't understand all the 500 hate. At least 500 owners did not buy big honkin SUVs instead. More small carson the road using less space & less fuel is a good thing in my mind. :wink::crazy::wink:

 

The 500's just look like smart cars ..... Meaning they look stupid.
