I was shocked the other day. A guy in a BRG Mini waved at me the other day up at Easton! I was so shocked that all I could do in return was nod. Granted I was also turning at the time, but I was still shocked.
When I was test driving my mini I noticed the "jeep wave" seems to apply to minis also. I thought "oh no, it's gonna be 'HEY SAME CAR' every time I pass one in traffic, just like when I had my jeep".
I also flash ... :ihih:... my lights. If it gets their attention it usually results in waves. I like having a car that not to many people have, so I have always thought MINIs acknowledging another MINI was pretty cool.
I don't wave at all because I like my car and keep both hands on the wheel. No I do not use my phone in my car nor do I text. Also most people have one hand on the wheel and another on the phone or coffee so if wave they may hit me. :mad2: One more thing, I hate when people wave to other MINI's while you are at MOTD either on The Dragon even on Hellbender where most people crash. People should be paying attention to the road and not driving and waving to every MINI they see like they are a princess on a Macy's Thanksgiving day float. If you want to wave at MINI's at MOTD drive around Fontana at 15 mph and wave your hands off.
For some reason Dave I'm thinking you atleast once a week flash the "Your Number One" signal to somebody for something.. The question is Do you go full tilt and stick your right arm out the passenger window flashing "The Signal" while yelling FU at them, or do you just kinda roll your wrist on the steering wheel and flash it while mumbleing obsentities at them!!
I'm thinking neither... Dave's keeping both hands on the wheel as he said.... But somehow he's able to "moon" them as he passed by... So he can't be wearing his seatbelt which is somewhat disturbing...
:lol::lol::lol: I use the sunroof so I don't have to take off my seat belt and I can keep both eyes on the road.
That's funny right there Dave! I use one up against the driver's glass so I don't get too distracted by a lengthy arm movement. It's sort of a patented move of mine, but we're all friends here... Remember now, it's Justa quick flip of the wrist and elbow that snaps that bird right up against the glass. Hold for 3-5 seconds, then release back to the wheel. Try it, you'll like it.
That will be my Winter wave when the Sunroof is covered in snow. I have tinted windows BUT I guess it will have to do.
That's awesome! Even though all my cars have always had some form of a tinted window, because of the heat out here, I get personal satisfaction in knowing "I showed them!", whether they can observe the gesture or not...
See on the other hand... I prefer the full fledged "one finger (sometimes two finger) wave" at full extension out the window. I just want to make sure the other driver sees the "wave" and knows that at least I was paying attention.
I usually wave, even though my wife and friends think I'm a bit crazy. But I still do. Most don't bother waving back. But last week, the one time I failed to wave, some driver in a MINI driving by rolled down his windows and stuck his arm out and waved at me. :blush2:
