My experience: On 06 R52, I replaced engine bushings with Orange Softest Polys from Madness, and replaced the top one with OEM. Also have the Super Damper. There is no discernable NVH above idle. The car is silk-smooth in every respect. The rearview mirror is vibration-free except from the road bumps, and all is clear. Yet the car is tight and engine has very limited motion. I just put on 2,100 miles in two weekends and came back virtually rested.

I really wish I did some more research before buying these "racecar" mounts.

I don't feel like spending another 400 dollars on mounts but at the same time this vibration is not my thing at all...

You can always recover some of your money buy selling the TSW & BSH mounts of here or the NAMless site.

    Yup...
Someone else will have a use for it.... Good deals for the "right" person....
Heck...so many r53's are becoming weekend only track/fun cars, you might get a taker pretty fast...

I was thinking if he was just replacing the mount, then replace the mount. It's a quick job and relatively cheap. But if he's inside the motor anyways then go all out. That guy is going to spend the money anyways. It really depends on what each owner wants out of their car. To me, the motor mounts are a maintenance item. Others might differ in opinion.

That's the main reason I stayed away from solid mounts. I've been doing this modding business for a while, and solid mounts were great when I was young and drove a razekor all over the streets. Now that I'm an adult, I enjoy comfort lol.

I'd recommend ditching the TSW mount, replacing it with this since its cheaper than anywhere else. Its the OEM supplier, and you will find the MINI name and part number ground off. I'm running powerflex lower mount inserts and its annoying when idling at lights, or really at any point where I don't have my foot down on it, but to each their own.

Back to this thread again... I've been looking at intercoolers and one of the manufacturers said that their intercooler won't work with the TSW mount because it changes the height of the engine?

Seems weird to me, so how much does the TSW actually change the height, and is it enough to really affect intercooler clearance?

VT mount and GP IC working great for a few years now without any issues.

For a Gen 1 R53 anything other than a OEM GP IC is a waist of money and that has been test and proven several times over the years. This even includes DOS, M7, Alta, GRS ...on and on.

Just stick with what has been proven to work the best and is still the most efficient. I would spend you money on a VT mount and sell the TSW one but hey that's just me what do I know.....:smilewinkgrin:

Anything other than a gp unit is a waste($$ and performance wise) unless you want bling...

    interesting product....
the fact it has the solid strip down the middle indicates it is 2 smaller intercoolers welder together, with ends attached...like the old alta one (the early one)....
not sure if the dyno numbers are honest, but they ARE showing numbers....
    Still....
you need to pick the right IC for your use...
a light IC will heat-soak fast when not moving, but recover VERY fast.....
some other designs that have come out have more mass...but take longer to recover after a few moments when stopped....like most items, an IC is a series of compromises....just be sure to pick wisely based on how you plan on using the car....

I was honestly only looking at it, wasn't considering purchasing it as I can't even find a place to contact the manufacturer about why it doesn't work with the TSW mount. I just thought it was odd that there's no mention of this engine mount changing engine the engine height until I stumbled upon this strange intercooler I've never heard of before.

It does look like the old ALTA one.

I would pass on this IC since it cost $670.00 and comes with free silicone leaky boots. This is without shipping to the U.S.A.. Also who drives a car with the hood open? No one I know so why do that test  just to get numbers for test results.

The GP IC is still the one to buy.

    This thread again. :mad2::lol:

I'm getting rid of my TSW/WMW upper mount for the Vibratechnics. I should have just listened to you guys to begin with but there's no use going over that now.

Is there a different lower mount that's better than the BSH? I feel like a lot of vibration is coming from it, being that it's solid metal. I can't find a Vibratechnics lower mount, or any lower mount aside from the BSH one... and I don't feel like going back to stock.

the VT lower mount will all but eliminate the vibes being transmitted to the cabin. I had the BSH, and ditched it for a VT for that very reason. I'm currently just waiting to scratch together some funds to have the VT trans mount installed. once it is.. that's all 3 converted to VT street mounts. :ihih::ihih:

    Try HERE.

    Awesome, thanks.

That's the cheapest I've seen the upper one and the only place that I can find the correct lower mount.
